Seventh Generation cleaning products

I know they're not tested on animals and include no animal ingredients. But how to the hold up in general? Has anyone ever bought/used them? I hate commercial smells and dyes and sometimes I find I need something stronger than white vinegar and not as smelly as bleach. I'm also trying to use as little chlorine as possible (not good for the environment).

Any feedback would be great. Thanks! :)

The "Free and Clear Natural All Purpose Spray" smears up my kitchen counters  :-\  I want to try some of the home-made ones on here, I do love the smell of vinegar :)

I love their natural citrus dish soap--it works really well and has a really clean, subtle orange scent. It's the only stuff I'll buy.

As far as the laundry detergent, I felt like it didn't really get my clothes that clean (I work in a kennel and my pants get filthy and the Seventh Generation detergent really didn't work very well). I only tried the powdered stuff--maybe the liquid is better?

i have their bathroom cleaner. it smells nice- very subtly orangey and not remotely chemically. the smell of most cleaning stuff knocks me over- this is just like someone across the table peeled an orange and the smell is floating by in the breeze. looking at the ingredients, its pretty much hydrogen peroxide, soap, orange oil, and water. i could probaby do that myself, if i wasn't such a slacker.

i used their dish soap once too, it was alright, but i get the shoppers drugmart method knock-off one now, its half the price and just as good.

have you tried any of the method stuff?
what about other stuff like soda crystals or borax?

I use their orange one and it works fantastic I use it on counter tops, the stove, windows....It really is ALL purpose.

I use a lot of their products and love them all. I use the lavender dish soap and it really does make me feel calmer when doing dishes :)

I use the liquid and it works great. It gets out all of my gardening stains. It also gets the oil stains out of my massage linens.

Me too! It works very well, and it is also gentle on my hands. I can get reeeeeally dry hands (esp. in the winter), but I've found this kind to be both an effective dish cleaner & non-drying for skin (as far as dish-soap goes, at least). Plus, it smells nice! :)

Thanks guys! Today I bought the natural glass and surface cleaner. It was even cheaper than windex. I'm hoping to replace all the artificial products in my apartment. My roommate buys commercial cleaners but if I keep getting the good stuff she won't have a chance to buy the bad ones.  :D (Though I'd always have to foot the bill) When I moved in in March I also replaced all of the light bulbs with the energy efficient ones. She kinda fought me on that one since she had a slew of regular bulbs in the cupboard. I couldn't believe she still used those  :o
