Veg*n Magazines???

I currently subscribe to Vegetarian Times, but have been considering Veg News too. Do any of you have any really good magazine recommendations? Thanks. :)

I have a subscription to both Veg. Times and Veg  News.  I prefer the Veg News.  I think it's a better lifestyle magazine that V. Times. There's one called Herbivore But it only publishes an on-line edition and the "latest" is October 2007.  Their subscriber page says they are only selling single issues so I don't know what's really going on with them.  The free articles are pretty good:  http://herbivoremagazine.com/subscribers/
I don't know of any other ones.

I like VT because they have some really good recipies.  I got Veg News one time, they seem to be more into news, rather than recipies.  I like news, but personally I am more interested in learning new and interesting things to cook so that is why I prefer VT.  I don't know of any other magazines, however.

One thing I am mad about, they used to sell VT at the Kroger I shop at, but they stopped carrying it.  >:(

I guess I am going to have to get a subscription.  I also want a subscription to this digital camera magazine, even though I can't get one :'(
I mean, I have a point and shoot but my dream is to have the Canon Rebel XTi.  An $800 digital SLR camera.  I was going to buy one, but I got preggers and so it has to wait a bit.  Sorry, off subject, I know.

Thanks guys. I wish there were more choices, but I appreciate the input!

(((SQ))) I hope you get your camera!

I get both VT and VN.  VegNews is entirely vegan and vegan lifestyle and activism, so if you're vegan I'd highly recommend it.  Non-vegans might find the activism a bit much.    VT is more of a cooking magazine and is quite good as well.

VeggieLife http://www.veggielife.com/   is one I've read in the past and found it good, but small.  I haven't read it in years though so it might have changed.

You might also check out the Vegetarian Journal.  http://www.vrg.org/journal/      It's another that's been around for many years, but I haven't really checked out much.

I subscribe to Vegan Voice, an Australian magazine (www.veganic.net).  You can subscribe by Paypal.  I think it is an excellent mag.  It has a lot of articles and interviews and isn't so much into the 'buy this because it's vegan - I'm so trendy it hurts' culture that some mags seem to have.

You can buy back issues if you want to try one before you subscribe; that's what I did.  It is published four times a year and I always look forward to receiving the next one.

BP, did you get this month's VT?

I made all the Jamaican recipes last weekend and they were awesome. And I just made the Confetti Rice Salad and Chipotle Orange Tofu.

And don't even get me started on the vegan ice cream section...

I get VT and VN and love them both for the reasons that everyone else talked about.

I'm so bummed, I loaned my VT to my co-worker has become vegetarian for health reasons and she hasn't given it back yet (it's been a week now).  I'm dying to read it and I'm going through VT withdrawl  :'(

I'd love to have other veg*n magazines, so I'll have to check out the ones listed.

I do a vegan newsletter (mini-mag), 'Legend of Bean'. It's mainly about the health & weightloss benefits of a vegan diet, has a 'cookery' section, and also bits about the origins, history and culture of particular vegan foods. The free issue theme is potatoes. And it's got quotes, silly poems, recipe and poetry contests and links.

The style is vintage magazine, and the theme is 'Legends of Old' (like in the times of King Arthur or Fong Sai-Yuk)

It's just starting out so I appreciate any feedback on the website or newsletter.

I really like VegNews, I've gotten some great recipies from the magazine, I also get vegetarian times, I appreciate how they mark the recipes vegan or vegetarian.

I'll have to try VegNews.  I like the Neil Barnard advice in Vegetarian Times - I'm especially interested in health and the vegan diet. That's probably the main reason I get it but I like it generally.  :cat2:

Someone mentioned Herbivore - it's great! A lot of ecletic articles, cool reviews of vegan products, snappy writing. If you wanted something more recipe-focused it might not be the magazine for you but there are some great lifestyle pieces in there and their interviews are always good.

Herbivore magazine shut down last year, you can still buy back issues though.  The magazine had really good content. What really sucked about that was I had subscribed right before they called it quits so I only got 1 print issue and some digital backissues. What a waste of $25!

I had not heard that. Now I am sad.
