I have BBC's Persuasion on, but I can't really get into. I've heard thought that BBC's Sense & Sensibility is good. Of course I"ve watched the Ang Lee Emma Thompson version which is superb... I may get it this week to see :P
hmmm... could the movie you're thinking of be Kick Ass? http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1250777/
I haven't seen that one, but have heard good things about it.
YES!! That's the one. I think I was confused because both of the main guys are from the movie Superbad.
I knew going into it that The Tree of Life wouldn't be "fun", but I'm ironing duvet covers so slow works. It kind of reminded me of a modern-day Kurosawa film (Dreams, not Dersu Uzala). I liked it, but I can't imagine watching it with my full attention. The image montages were cool.
This one is on my list.
Ok. So. Twilight was on TV. Because I have no where to go and because my mom loves the Twilight series, the movie played in it's entirety this evening. I ended up reading about anarchism and OccupyPortland online and (I admit) I watched a fair share of the vampire flick while reading online. Afterwards, my mom asked if I like the movie and I said, "It was cheesy as hell. But I was in love with the Portland/Oregon filming locations. And that's all." Haha!!
Limitless
I started out thinking this was too frou frou without enough substance or character development, but it grew on me. I do still think there's not a lot of character development, but it is what it is. I think the movie steadily improved, and ending wasn't bad. 4/5
not on dvd, but I saw Martha Marcey May Marlene yesterday, really good, but I wanted more to happen at the end
What's that about, Lubi? lol, the title reminds me of a children's book.
it stars Elizabeth Olsen(mary kate and ashleys younger sister) in it. She was in a cult like family situation, and the movie goes back and forth to her remembering what all happeed to her.
SB recommended Leap Year, not the sweet chick flick with Amy Aadams(which I also saw), but the spanish film that is seriously effed up!!!!

Spain specialises in effed up. Their "disturbing" (the Spanish word is "inquietante") short films are...wow.
ETA: Oh, I IMDB'd the title. Not Spanish, Mexican. Different culture, different cinema.

That looks amazing!! Was the movie dark and psychologically-unsettling? Those are my favorites. :)

it wasn't as dark as I hoped, and it had one of those endings where you say wth??? But, I did like it.

I really want to see it. :)
I'm watching Home Alone. 21 years later and this movie is still great. It cracks me up.
Watched Rosemary's Baby last night.
seriously messed up movie in all the right ways. I covet all of Farrow's dresses... 60's frocks and shifts are one of my favorite things to wear.

My thoughts exactly!! I'm glad you like this film. :)
Good neighbors
Pretty good! Kinda predictable, but with some slight nuances. Understated, but interesting. 4/5
The game
Too long. I've seen similar-ish movies that came before and after this one, but it's still pretty good. Gets better toward the end. I would have enjoyed this way more if it weren't so long. 3.5/5 (closer to 4)
The Lord Of The Rings Trilogy
Why have I not bought the movies before? I am in love with Legolas because as my son says the Elves are beautiful. Not to mention all the natural redheads that are in the movie. I love redheads!!
Which Way Home, a great doc. about kids from mexico and Honduras trying to sneak into the US. Very sad!
I've been watching the show Once Upon a Time on hulu. It's good! Super creative.
A Matter of Life and Death. Old postwar film, with a very young David Niven and the infamous Lieutenant Trubshawe, playing himself. I can see where a certain episode of MASH got its inspiration. The black and white/colour thing is odd since "real life" is in colour and "Heaven" is in black and white. I should think it would be the other way round, particularly in wartime.
The Next Three Days
A movie has to be REALLY good for me to be ok with it being so long! This is not THAT good, but still good. I've seen variants of this story a few times, so nothing too new, but still suspenseful. Far fetched, as usual, but pretty enjoyable. 4/5
Alexander
He has an efd up family. In fact his life in this film is all efd up. It's an ok movie.

Finished it. Piece of cheese. I only watched it because DH said if I did he'd watch Three Iron with me.
