Raisin Cinnamon Rice

What you need: 

3/4 cup brown rice (uncooked)
1 tablespoon raisins, chopped
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
3/4 teaspoon garlic powder
3/4 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/16 teaspoon ground black pepper
1-1/4 cups water
1 tablespoon toasted, chopped almonds

What you do: 

Combine rice, cinnamon, raisins, onion and garlic powders, black pepper, salt and water in a medium size saucepan; bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer, covered for 45 minutes, until rice is tender and liquid is absorbed. Sprinkle with toasted almonds.

SO HOW'D IT GO?

This looks really tasty... I think I'll try it will bulgur when I get home. I'll probably add a lot more raisins... I'd say this needs at least 1/4-1/2 cup. Looks yummy, and rich in iron to boot. :D
