Nori Toast

What you need:

4 slices bread
1 sheet Nori (sea vegetable)
1/2 tablespoon Shoyu (Japanese style soy sauce)
2 tablespoons flax oil (or coconut oil, or vegan margarine)

What you do:

Toast your favorite bread.
While you do so, tear the Nori into four pieces. Pour the soy sauce into a small plate and dip the Nori in.
Spread flax oil or other oil of your choice on the bread. Put the Nori on the toast.
Enjoy!!

SO HOW'D IT GO?

I just stumbled onto this and had to try it! I used tamari, nori, toasted whole wheat bread, and olive oil. Really simple and tasty, and I love the texture! Goes great with the snack I was already eating while browsing through vegweb: cold leftover rice and soy sauce with spicy kimchee. Mmm. Think I need more toast (it's good dipped in the spicy kimchee juice)

I used SushiNori and untoasted hamburger buns for this recipe, because I have nothing else. I like these a lot. They have a very different, but very good, taste to them. They are super easy to make which makes them a bomb midnight snack.

Oops, just realised I used vinegar instead of Soy Sauce. Oh well, it was still good.

I know it sounds weird, japanese food and bread - but it is great!

I had one piece of toast with dry nori and it was pretty good. But, I dipped the remaining nori in White Vinegar (because I can not find Shoyu Vinegar anywhere) and it was amazing! I liked it so much I layered up the nori so I had three bits on one piece of toast.

I'm not generally a big fan of nori, but I liked this a lot.

Do you use Yaki Nori or just plain Nori?

Any sheet nori would do I guess.  I use the one for sushi.  If you have yaki nori, use that one.  It's good for this recipe.
