SO HOW'D IT GO?
Made this today for Thanksgiving. Everyone loved it. My omni DS24 asked what was in it since he really liked it and it was not the soup based original. The only "complaint" was the sauce was not as thick as the original. I did cut back on the amount of onions because I found them to be way too salty. next time I plan on frying my own onion topping and adding a bit more flour.
So simple, so good!!
I didn't have any French Fried onions but still so tasty.
Thanks! ;)b

I'm making this casserole as I write this in preparation for Rosh Hashana. The sauce smells awesome!! As a compromise I used chopped onions along with some onion powder and garlic powder. The directions and the ingredient list differ a little. Simple, easy and "heimish". Thank you!!
