sweet omni friends

I am having (omni) friends over tonight for Lost, and one of them just told me, "We're bringing vegan apple crisp! We used Smart Balance Light margarine. No whey!"
It was sweet. They were so proud they thought to check the ingredients for me! Things like that make my day.
Anyone else have "really considerate omni friends" stories?
I think I mentioned this right after it happened, but last Thanksgiving was my first as vegan. My aunt (who hosted) volunteered to make a lentil loaf. I was scared at first...I thought she would use Egg beaters or something like that, then I would have to tell her I didn't want to eat it. ANYWAY. She bought Ener-G just for that! Then gave me the rest of the box! Anyway, she made other stuff vegan for me too...even talked about how simple it was...haha. she got a little carried away and stressed out about it and ended up freaking out about not being able to baste the turkey with butter b/c butter isn't vegan....hahah :-D
KMK: i would have said, NO WHEY!! and high fived them
tee hee :-D
KMK: That is awesome! Glad to see there are some omnis out there who actively respect the vegan lifestyle!
Yea, most of my friends can't cook to begin with, so I don't expect to have any vegan treats baked for me anywhere I go. At most I expect a salad.
Although tonight I was designated driver for my friend's 21st and he ordered me a ton of vegan food for me! Soooooo stuffed right.
awww...
one of my coworkers often makes me vegan stuffs. on thanksgiving she made me a nice vegan dinner bc she knew i wasn't doing anything before work.
also, i have a couple friends who make me food sometimes. it's very sweet :)>>>
When I returned to vegetaria (ovolacto for me), I commented on the fact to an Australian acquaintance here. They invited me for lunch last summer and she told me that dinner was vegan. To her, veg*n means "vegan." I guess they are common in the Melbourne area where this couple is from. She was all apologetic because she wasn't really sure about the sauce...sweet thing.
A particular friend of mine ALWAYS makes sure I have something to eat when I go over their house. She worries about it more than I do. But she doesn't make a big deal out of it or act like I am putting her out of her way (like my mom does). It is really sweet & we end up hanging out at their house alot probably because of this.
Yay for sweet omni's that can make vegan food!
hhhmmm I need to make friends with people that cook.
Though last Sunday, my friend suggested a restaurant to eat at simply because she knew they listed 'Vegetarian" several times on their menu. Yay for Indian food! mmmm
I've really lucked out in that area--all of my friends are either vegetarian (no vegan buds, though) or are really cool about making sure we eat somewhere w/ vegan food. I had this one girl who unfortunately is really clingy and annoying make me vegan cookies and pizza once for a party...too bad she's crazy/obnoxious...she's kind, at least :)
