Fall, the season

Fall is GORGEOUS here (as is every season), and the trees are beautiful. I wanted to share the first pictures that I've taken of fall this year, and I'll try to get more..from other areas. I took these from our deck, so this is just right in front, and to the side, of our apartment. The hill in front is the same hill that burned recently. It is SO green and beautiful. You can see what didn't burn (the yellow grasses) on the edges of the green. :)>>>

Autumn is, without a doubt, my favorite season. California Autumn's are kind of bunk, though.

How lucky! I wish it was as nice here. To me fall means allergies, cold and piles and piles of leaves to clean up. :(
Oh, yeah. I KNOW what it's like to not have a fall. Fall (or Autumn, if you prefer) has always been my favorite season, but where I'm from (Northeast TX), fall consists of about 2-3 nice fall-ish days, max. So, I'm thankful.

One of the few things I miss about living in the US is having four, clearly-defined seasons. Autumn is my favourite. And I say it again: if you've never heard Justin Hayward's "Forever Autumn" download it now. How he captured the essence of the season in music I don't know. It can be found on one of his solo albums or also on the Moody Blues' "War of the Worlds."
I have to get out my camera. It's beautiful here these days. The calm before the... severe cold.

Saw it in concert last year, it made my life!
I was camping on the North Shore of Minnesota this week and weekend. Saw the most beautiful foliage way up high on the Superior Hiking Trail, above Lake Superior. Too bad I don't have a camera, I would post pictures!!

Today leaving work it smelt like autumn, but I haven't gotten up north to see the full autumn effect...maybe this weekend, but it might be too late...
