Holiday Decorations! YAY!

Kiddos, I am so excited to NOT work retail anymore.... I put up my Christmas tree a couple of days ago, and this afternoon I bought new multi-colored lights and silver tinsel. I even splurged and got a package of multi-colored neon ornaments!

My mom was so sweet to ship my old tree to me (this thing is about 20 years old, almost as old as I am!) so that I didn't have to worry about getting another. The only downside was we both assumed I packed all my ornaments in the box with the tree, and then when I opened it I vaguely remembered that the last holiday I used this tree (about two years ago, I think) I had too many ornaments to pack in the same box... so those are on their way later this week. I did get some green and red decorations on my porch, and I think I may make my own wreath this year.

I had Thursday, Friday, and this whole weekend off work so I can actually pop in a holiday CD and decorate! I LOVE this time of year so much... and I finally get to enjoy it. I'm going to bake cookies today, too!

I can't wait for J to get home and see that the tree has lights on it and is ready for us to put the ornaments on together, which is a tradition we started last year. I'm so thrilled!

Does anyone else decorate the weekend after Thanksgiving? Or do you wait until later? I like to have one whole month of bright and cheery decorations up. Do you have any decorating traditions?

  ;)b

i've never decorated my own house for christmas since michael and i dont celebrate (sorta).  but we have a fake tree in our garage from the last owner of the house, so we might put that up.  i did get michael a present and it would be fun to put it somewhere.

i think i might do that today.  today is the last day of thanksgiving holiday, and i have a feeling i wont have any energy from tomorrow until christmas holiday, which starts on christmas eve.
