So, I'm looking to join PFLAG (Parents and Friends of Lesbians And Gays)... Are any of you VegWebbers a part of this organization? Any thoughts? Are you a part of any other organizations like this? Thanks for any input!
I looked at their site. I'm not sure what they do. Organize things? If there's a GLBTQ group on a nearby campus, they're probably already organizing things. It kind of seems like a waste of time.
To be honest, I'm not 100% sure what they do. I was looking into taking a part in the GLBTQ community and came across this national organization but it seems all they is just sit back and you can claim yourself as a member. Not exactly what I'm looking for..I wanna get out and participate in lobbying congress, putting together rallies, etc.
I'll see if there is anything else to be involved. I know the local Stonewall has things of all sorts. Thanks for the feedback. :)
I think the idea of PFLAG is to provide support to people who have queer and trans family members. They have chapters in different cities that meet up regularly, and I think they also organize larger events once in a while. If you're looking for a more activism-centered group, this is probably not it...although it seems to be a valuable go- to for people looking for support.
I don't know, but I remember seeing them at the gay pride thing in San Francisco and West Hollywood. Sounds gay though, AMIRITE

Hmm..a support-type group? That's what their site lead me to believe...and there's nothing wrong with that...just not what I'm looking for right now.

Nice play on words. Haha
