Our favorite caesar!!! I followed the recipe. I always feel like a noob with roasted garlic, because I don' t feel like I can get all the cloves out. Anyway, it's delicious. Pretty much a perfect blend. Great flavor and consistency. I just added a little extra chickpea liquid. Everything is great! Will make again. (AC)

Very interesting book! Not really something you want to just go out and buy before taking a good look at it, imo, but it's different. A lot of ingredients used, and quite a few "alternative" recipes/products are used. It's something I'm happy to have (thanks VW!), but probably won't use... a lot. However, I said that to P and then named a random recipe name off to him, and he said, "No. You will be making that next week." So, I guess I'll take the challenge! It's interesting, and will be a learning experience. Probably not for whole foods ONLY people.
I love this author's blog, but I can't say that I've ever made anything from it. She has gorgeous pictures & every single recipe looks amazing - but I always end up thinking, "God, that looks like a lot of work!" And I LOVE to cook & I love being in the kitchen - but even I have my limits on how long I'm willing to spend prepping a meal. I'll be interested to see how people like this cookbook because everything sounds so good, but so dang labor-intensive.

Speaking of pictures, I'm not impressed with the pictures in the book. They don't look book quality, aren't quite clear, and I think it's weird that she pictured a whole twinkie (instead of sliced; it just looks like a cake).
That aside, I'm going to make my next grocery list trying to make at least 1 thing from the book!
You know, I thought that same thing about the Twinkie photo when I browsed this book at the store! I wanted to see the cream fillin'.
P.S. It grosses me out that there's a recipe for vegan veal... I'm not sure why, really, because I'm not bothered by chik'n-style seitan, or veggie chorizo, or any of that kind of shiz. Just the word "veal" makes my stomach turn. But hey, if someone likes veal :err:, I'd certainly rather them make the vegan equivalent than eat the real thing!

Agreed. The word veal makes me feel all queasy and awful. I don't care if it's "vegan veal"...still sounds horrible.
I'm also feeling really intimidated by some of these recipes because they involve waaaaaay too much prep work for a weeknight. Maybe this will be my weekend fancy-dinners-only cookbook ::)

A small amount of cashews + some slivered almonds + chickpeas and chickpea liquid! All whole foods in this one. Mmmmm. I'm gonna make it a lot.
That is awesome! My favorite Caesar recipe uses cashews & pine nuts, so I definitely believe that this one would be good.
