Chewy Gooey Brownies!
1 cup unbleached, all-purpose flour
1 cup white granulated sugar
1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup oil
1/2 cup walnuts or pecans, chopped
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. In a mixing bowl, mix together the dry ingredients (flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt).
2. In another bowl, mix the wet ingredients (water, oil, and vanilla). Add the dry mixture into the wet mixture and stir until just combined. Stir in the nuts.
3. Spread batter into an 8" or 9" square baking pan. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, but keep checking for preferred doneness after 10 minutes - just eyeball it until it's as gooey or chewy as you like!
Source of recipe: These are seriously the most amazing brownies I've ever eaten!!! They're chewy but still gooey! Waaay better than regular brownies I used to make in my un-veggie days! Hope you love them!
SO HOW'D IT GO?
These were really great! A little oily, perhaps, but definitely chewy and gooey. I will make them again but sub half the oil for applesauce! Thanks so much!
I have made a few brownie recipes over the years, but I must say this one comes close to the best. I love the crushed walnuts; it just gives that extra dimension. I served it with some soy ice cream and my parents loved it. Definitely recommend letting it sit for 10 minutes before serving just to make it easier to serve.
Made these brownies and I must say they were delightful! Even my little brothers chowed down and enjoyed. Thank you for this awesome, and super easy, recipe!
It was an awesome recipe , a little dry this time but probably because I cooked it for 20 minutes instead of 15 . Tasted great even without the nuts . I will be doing this again soon , to get it right before Thanksgiving gets here .
VERY VERY VERY GOOD! So easy to make, I am a new Vegan and this was just what I needed to get my chocolate fix <3 Thanks so much.
My young children & their non-vegan friends LOVE these!!!

Thanks for a really great recipe. This is going to be my go-to recipe for brownies. I added a flax egg-replacer and cooked them longer because I like more cakey brownies and they weren't crumbly at all. They were perfect. I also added a tablespoon of espresso powder and topped them with a vegan chocolate espresso ganache.
This recipe is absolutely perfect if you do half olive oil and half applesauce. The consistency is perfect, crispy edges and a gooey middle without being too greasy. Im making a double batch for the third time! My boyfriend, kid, coworkers, and family love these. Try topping with some So Delicious Coconut milk ice cream in Vanilla!
These taste like real brownies!! Thank god! I was getting sick of recipes for chocolate flavored bricks. After a bad day, I make mine with melted eb in place of oil, and a handful of chocolate chips in with the pacans. Sinful <3. I will probably never make another brownie recipe, unless I create my own. Kudos :D
