Chocolate Chip Peanut Butter Bars
3 tablespoons whole flax seed
1/2 cup + 1 tablespoon water
1 cup all-natural salted peanut butter
1/3 cup oil
1/3 cup unsweetened applesauce
1 1/3 cups sugar
1 cup packed brown sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla
1 cup whole wheat flour
1/2 cup all purpose flour
1/2 cup rolled oats
1 teaspoon salt (use 1 1/2 teaspoons salt if using unsalted peanut butter)
2 tablespoons baking powder
1 cup chocolate chips
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Grease and flour a 13"x9" baking pan. In a blender, blend whole flax seeds and water until the mixture reaches a gelatinous consistency similar to that of egg whites. Pour into a large mixing bowl.
2. Add all ingredients through vanilla. Stir until ingredients are mixed. Add flour and oats on top of wet ingredients but don't mix yet. Drop salt and baking powder on top of flour and oats. Mix everything except chocolate chips together.
3. Add chocolate chips. Mix everything together until no dry stuff remains. Spread into prepared pan. Bake 30-35 minutes. Remove from oven when a toothpick poked in the center of the pan comes out relatively clean. Allow to cool 10 minutes before cutting. Enjoy!

These turned out to be absolutely amazing.
The prep time of 15 minutes was not accurate. It took me at least 30 minutes to pull all these ingredients together.
Also, when you pull these out of the over, they will be super gooey and falling apart. I left it unbaked, because when it cools down it makes them smooshey and delicious!
These were quick and easy and turned out really moist. They were a great bar and exactly what I was expecting, thanks.
