Chocolate Frosting/Glaze
What you need:
1 cup of sugar
1/2 of a teaspoon of vanilla extract
1/2 of a cup of cocoa powder
2 tablespoons plus 2 teaspoons - 3 tablespoons of vanilla soy milk
What you do:
Mix all ingredients. Use more soymilk for glaze, less for frosting.
For chocolate-mint: add some peppermint extract, you can add less vanilla if you want. Probably 1/8 of a teaspoon, I have never measured, all I know is it is a very small amount, just a couple drops or so.

SO HOW'D IT GO?
I use this recipe a lot because it's quick, easy, & tasty, but make sure you use powdered sugar, NOT granulated sugar. The recipe really should specify that you need powdered sugar. That may be why some people are getting gritty frosting.
Also, you probably will have to use more milk. Just keep adding a tablespoon at a time until it's a nice smooth, spreadable cosistency. It makes eniugh for an 8x8 inch cake.
I wasn't too excited about this glaze. Too gritty and the flavor was "Eh." I would try it again, though, with peppermint.
Mine was gritty at first, too, so I just cooked it over medium high heat, stirring constantly until the sugar dissolved. It made a good glaze to drizzle over my cake.
Hmm. I was a little dissappointed with this recipe. The liquid amount was pretty off, as 3 TBLS was hardly enough to blend the dry ingrediants together. I had to add a good amount of additional liquid to make it come together. The final product was gritty and a little bitter. I didn't know how to salvage this as I've never made frosting before, so I ended up tossing it. I tasted it beforehand though and I have to say it was more like the beginning of a brownie batter than anything else. It tasted good, but def. not frosting. Thanks though!
i followed the recipe exactly for the first batch i made and it had a bitter aftertaste. the second time i used 1 cup powdered sugar, 1/3 cup cocoa powder, 2 tbsp almond milk, and 1 tsp of almond extract. it was amazing and complimented the white cake i made perfectly. i ended up eating the rest of frosting off the cake! thanks for recipe, i will definitely be making this again and again!
I added al ittle more touch to the frosting :
pecans and a pinch flaxseeds. Turned out wonderful.
I tried this with the peppermint & it was amazingly yummy.
