SO HOW'D IT GO?

I just wanted to say...I forgot to come back and add this...but if you don't add any soymilk, you will have a much thicker, firmer frosting that won't go all runny on you.  It takes some extra whipping to get it nice and creamy but it comes out nicely without the milk.

and I meant to also add that I did 1 part Earth Balance to 1 part Spectrum Shortening.

Refrigerating the frosting once it was made was the trick to keep it easy to spread but preventing it from being too runny.  This frosting dyes well!

This turned out really really great, I frosted some chocolate cupkakes with it.

I used a whole stick of Earth Balance, instead.  (8 tbsp)
It turned out pretty good, but it definitely does need to be refrigerated...gets runny and goopy if left out... I had to make a second batch because I left my cake out and the frosting dripped off and stuck  to the tin foil.

It's a very TASTY recipe...but I think I'll explore others before I come back to this one, or decide to tweak it...

I followed the directions on this one and it still came out runny, even after adding more sugar. Oh, well, fine for a glaze, but not really sure what to do to make it a frosting.

I haven't made this yet, but I bet if you use more Earth Balance it would thicken a bit.

Try using one stick of EB... this recipe calls for 1/4 cup, and the sticks I believe are 1/2 cup.  1/4 cup just sounds like not enough to make this thick.

I'll be making this on Sunday (using the 1/2 cup Earth Balance instead) and I'll let you know how it turns out :)

oh and maybe a tiny bit of corn starch would help... hmm... I can't wait to experiment :)

Pretty good! I only had unsweetened soymilk, so I had to add the vanilla but that was my bad. That aside this was simple, tasty, and easy.
