Fastest, Easiest Homemade Pizza Crust

What you need:

2 cup unbleached all purpose flour
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
12 ounces beer

What you do:

1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Grease a cookie sheet (12 x 18" or slightly smaller works well).
2. Combine all ingredients. Dough does not have to rise at all, but will be fairly wet and sticky.
3. Press into prepared cookie sheet If it seems too sticky to work with, sprinkle a little flour on it as you pat/press it into the pan.
4. Top with your favorite sauce and toppings. Bake 20-25 minutes or until dough is browning and crisp around edges.
Voila! Enjoy!

Love this recipe. I agree to add herbs to it to your personal palate, but for last minute preparations, this works wonderfully. Keep coming back to this one :)

I didn't like this crust - it's just mediocre. It reminded me of college co-op dinners. It didn't rise, so it's pretty dense with the whole wheat flour in the mix. I added salt, thyme, and oregano, and used Full Sail Amber Ale but it wasn't enough to really give it a good savory flavor, and it's too dense in your mouth. Basically, you can't skip the rising phase on pizza dough, it just doesn't turn out as well without letting the dough rise.

On the other hand, I really like this pizza crust recipe and have made it multiple times, always to rave reviews: http://vegweb.com/recipes/fluffy-hell-pizza-dough-no-knead-sorta

This recipe's real value is in its speed.  It's pretty good, but as ennahtebazile says, at the least it needs some salt.  I'm sure I'll make this again.  :)

Great, super easy, fast recipe.  When I want pizza, I want it now so this is awsome.  Perfect for using up leftover beer you don't really like that people leave behind after a party.

I agree, add salt and herbs to the recipe.

Thanks for sharing!!!!

OMG this was amazing plus soooooooo fast & easy.. I added the spices and made 4 pizza crusts & baked halfway through. I took 1 and topped with pesto, fresh mushrooms and sundried tomatoes to eat right away, it was great. I put the others in my food saver bags and froze for another time..
I thought the crusts would be small but they are each about 8" in diameter.
Thanx for this recipe. I make beer bread all the time , now this recipe what more do I need.. :)>>>

I make amazing pizzas all the time with this crust. I should have commented on this recipe ages ago. I just add a few things to it. The recipe is a base, I figure. I add spices- garlic powder, basil, dill, pepper, etc. and seeds (sesame/sunflower) to make it a nice, savory crust. I add a bit more beer or flour to get it to a consistency I like and it makes a really fantastic pizza. everyone I've ever made this for has been floored with how good vegan pizza can be.
thanks! ;)b

I halved the recipe to make a med.  thin crust, with little flax meal and oregano, and baked it for a little longer than 10 mins. Until I showered then  smeared leftover veggie brothers Christmas meatlessballs on the crust , some crushed red pepper, and daiya cheese, and finally small bits of 3 mushrooms and baked for 'bout 20 mins. This was deli-sh with garlic salt. Oh yea, I used half a cup of bud the wiser and gave half to opossum.

Currently making this with a few subs;
Ginger ale for the beer, baking soda for the powder and just 3 cups of white flour instead of wheat. I am using the bread as rolls for grilled tempeh. So excited!  ^-^

I forgot to mention I sprinkled in some nutritonal yeast as well as a teaspoon of honey.
