SO HOW'D IT GO?
I was a doubter! But this was suuuuuper easy to make and I looooved the texture. I'll try it again with bbq sauce/sweet and sour/general tao/etc :)
I confirm the tastiness of this recipe with soy sauce and curry powder. Although, it would be nice if the tofu was more dry and firm, similar to a chicken nugget. I suppose you drain it first? Very tasty! :D
I was thankful that I was finally able to use my steak seasoning for this (instead of curry powder), but this method of cooking tofu just isn't for me. I'm not a big fan of the texture, I suppose. I had to fry it until it got a bit crispy. Oh well. Thanks for sharing this good idea!
so i dont have a microwave.. so would it be better to use an oven or just fry them up?
Are you even from the ghetto, kid?
So were these curried tofu slabs actually concocted in a ghetto? Or is that your preferred adjective to describe low budget or easy?
My two cents: Ghettos are real and shouldn't be made light of.
This was so yummy! I added teriyaki sauce and used garlic powder instead of a clove, since I didn't have any. Also, I threw in some mushrooms. This recipe would go well with anything!
It was good! ;)b
Nuked some tofu and fresh mushrooms, seasoned with a little soy sauce and garlic cloves (outta the jar). Threw it all in a whole wheat pita spread with peanut butter - WHAM! Small, quick, tasty, protein-packed meal that really sticks to your ribs! :D ;)b
This is good when you've just gotten home from work and are starving for something protein rich quick. I wouldn't serve it to anyone, but it is tasty enough. I leave out the garlic and used frozen pressed tofu.
Ghetto-ness aside, this was PERFECT. I had only a few minutes to make dinner and a hungry guest to feed, so while the tofu was in the microwave (I suggest thin slabs and did 5 min), I toasted some bread and mashed an avocado spread (with garlic salt, lime juice and veganaise). Open-face sammiches that had a full taste (not too bland) from walking-in-the-kitchen to dinner-on-my-plate in under 10 minutes.
I still have some for lunch today - will probably eat it on a bagel and take photos if I can find a camera at work. Thanks for this straightforward and excellent dinner suggestion!
