Kettle Corn
What you need:
2/3 cup popcorn kernels
1/3 to 1/2 cup organic sugar
1/2 cup oil (I use Canola)
salt, to taste (I use lots)
What you do:
1. Heat oil in a soup-sized pot on medium. Add kernels. When the first kernel pops, add sugar and stir.
2. Put the top on the pot and turn down the heat. Shake constantly. Alternate; shake, heat, shake, heat. There is a bit of a science to this since you want to pop the corn without burning the sugar.
3. When it's done, liberally shake on some salt. Warning: very hot.

SO HOW'D IT GO?
This was my first attempt at popping my own popcorn. And it was super easy and delicious! My batch made 10 1 cup servings which isn't large servings, but the recipe was so high in fat I had to make small portions. I wonder if there's a way to make it less fatty???
I've often wondered what people meant by Kettle Corn. This is the way popcorn was made from time immemorial until the advent of the air popper and microwave. We just called it "popcorn." ;)b
Amazing! Thank you so much for this recipe, it will be used often!
very good and quick!!
ive made it a few times already and it always hits the spot!
be careful with the sugar though..mines been a bit sweet and the hot oil is not your friend!!!
Mmm this is very yummy! A perfect snack to fill both the salty and sugary cravings. Be sure to transfer the popcorn to a bowl once it's done popping. I let mine linger in the pan a little too long and ended up slightly burning the bottom of an otherwise perfect batch of popcorn. Still delicious, though! ;D
Yum.
That sums it up. ;D
