SO HOW'D IT GO?

Hi,

I want to use this to make cinnamon scones.  How much cinnamon should I add?

This was horrible! I used the 250 g and the 1/2 c water and milk. Nice dough? No, more like a big messy glob. If you're interested in using this recipe I'd suggest using only milk and gradually adding it until it forms a dough. Otherwise you'll end up with a big mess like I did. Plus, the taste isn't that good anyway.

Ya gotta be kidding me. Even using the 250 g of flour the 1 cup of water is way too much. It wasn't even a dough. It was a big messy glob. If you're interested in this recipe I'd suggest using only milk and GRADUALLY add it until you get a dough. Otherwise, you'll run into the same issue I had.

I just mixed up a batch of batter and it's nothing like dough. 1 cup flour to 1 cup liquid and it's way too runny to roll out.  I'm going to try adding flour.  Anyone else have this problem?  I'm almost certain I measured correctly....

i agree nothing like a scone ended up using buckwheat flour and then baking in greased loaf pan

This was a nice simple recipe, ... I added dried cranberries and they came out fine.  My family enjoyed them with a bowl of piping hot potatoe and leek soup.  :)

These were so good. I used 2 cups flour like mentioned by previous reviewers. I added the zest of an orange and walnuts to the batter because I had them laying around. Also instead of 1/2c of water I used the juice from the orange I zested which came out to be 1/4c orange juice and then just used 1/4c water to make it 1/2. I was lazy and didn't roll them out, I just used an ice cream scoop and plopped them on the pan then patted them down but they came out great anyway.

These are pretty good. I made 6 big scones and used soy milk thickened with lemon juice. They're lovely and fluffy inside - next time I will not be lazy and I'll roll them out instead of just dumping them onto the baking shee. Oh, and I used 2 cups flour. Great with a cuppa!

LOL, that flour is off which would explain the poor rising quality with too much air and not enough basis for holding it all together, they would just fall flat.  Great observation Tigeir!

The cup quantity of flour is wrong - 1 cup of flour is 125g so 250g is 2 cups. I tried keeping everything the same but 2 cups flour and it worked very well.

I agree, to much liquid, I only used the 1/2c soy milk and did not need to use any water. Instead of margarine I used Crisco to make them a little softer(Crisco is vegan). That seemed to work pretty good.
