SO HOW'D IT GO?
This is a great and simple recipe. We use it with the tofu fingers recipe on this site. The 2 things I change is add a heaping 1/2 cup brown sugar and while cooking I add ketchup.
This is really yummy with the crunchy tofu strips on this site. Great, simple recipe! ;)b
If I had known doing sweet and sour sauce was so easy, I wouldn't have wasted any time searching the grocery stores for ready-made sauce.
I did change it up a bit, because I'm not a huge fan of vinagre... so, as I could smell it really strongly while it was cooking, I added more sugar, more lemon juice, and also some ketchup to add to the sweetness and cover the vinagre flavour a bit, as well as give it the color I'm used to seeing here. I also used only 2tablespoons of cornstarch, I liked that thickness. Thank you for this!
best sweet n sour recipe we've found so far...had it over freid tofu and rice! delish! thanks! ;)b
Thank you for this recipe. I made the simple sweet and sour vegetables recipe and the ingredient amounts were wrong so I was a little disappointed as the sauce really makes the recipe. I threw out the other sauce and made this recipe and it saved my dinner. thanks a million!!
Thanks, this recipe is so simple and easy, it was perfect for fried rice :D i subbed lime for the lemon, cuz thats all i had, and it was really good.
Good recipe--the cornstarch gives it the perfect texture. I used this with the recipe for sweet & sour seitan on this site. I substituted brown rice syrup for half the sugar, used apple cider vinegar, and added a little pineapple juice. It was great!
