Tofu Fingers

What you need:

1/2 cup nutritional yeast
spike, to taste

olive oil, as needed

What you do:

1. Mix all other ingredients except for tofu and olive oil.
2. Place olive oil in skillet on medium heat. Batter each rectangular cube with yeast mixture until fully covered.
3. Place tofu in skillet, fry until golden brown on both sides.

Guess I should have made two blocks of tofu since my 5 year old ate three times as many as I figured he would! Whole family loved them- thanks!

just tried this recipe and it's decent. my store was out of extra firm tofu so i settled for just firm and that was my biggest problem. the breading was pretty good.. i added some chopped fresh parsley to it and halfway through frying i gave all the tofu fingers another good roll in the breading to ensure a good crisp to them. i ate them with BBQ sauce and it was really similar to chicken nuggets in that way.. but the softness of the tofu took away from that somewhat but still, pretty decent recipe and my first time using tofu in something other than stirfry or sauces :)

These were very tasty! I need to fry them a bit longer next time as mine were not quite as crispy as I would have preferred. Also, I would add some more spices next time. However, my husband liked them too, and he hates anything usually with nutritional yeast! Thanks for the recipe; I will definitely make these again!

Oh my goodness, this is possibly the best tasting tofu I've ever had in my life. I love how the breading tastes with the home made tofu I buy from the korean market. It's just perfect! I'm trying to only make this once a week because it's so addicting, I just can't have enough! Haaalp (:

Hi there!  Curious to know if anyone tried baking these instead of frying?  If so, what did you think?

Wow these were tasty!! I made a grown-up version with a jerk seasoning mixture instead of the Spike or Vegit which I didn't have. The breading was really fantastic! I had originally planned to just eat half the package of tofu and save the other half for another time but I couldn't stop eating them!! I'm wondering what else I can bread with this breading. Mmmm.
