just wanted to share.
my mom helped me make it.
the fabric has little squirrels and acorns and trees on it.
i'm going to wear it on thanksgiving with a brown turtle neck.
what are you ladies (or guys) planning on wearing to look beautiful?
That sounds cool!
Not sure about beautiful, but I'm wearing my "I am not a nugget" hoodie. Yes, I'll be seeing omni family. And I don't care if my sweatshirt pisses someone off.
Do you have a picture?

yay. that sounds amazing.
i will be wearing my work uniform, other than that, i'm not sure i'll venture out.
!!!! i sewed today too. i made a shirt though. i was in the middle of watching amelie and i thought, i should go make a shirt, so i paused the movie, made a shirt, ate some dinner, and i just finished the movie. maybe your creative brain waves traveled over here and hit my head in the middle of my movie. i was thinking of wearing it for thanksgiving too! its such a lovely shirt.
I want pictures!!
Hiimkelsi- that movie always inspires me to do creative things! I love it!!
I bought this cute little outfit for Thanksgiving- I'm working on being a girl. ;D I found this really pretty denim skirt, a sweater with tank top sewn inside, and some way too expensive shoes with little heels. :)
yay chickpea! dont you feel so accomplished?!
for t-day, i might wear this hot pink sparkly dress from the 60s or a blue chiffon dress. or i might lose my nerve and just wear plain old jeans.... im just feeling like i want to bust out of my rut and im feeling nostalgic for my old halloween costumes! ;D
Well done you! If you can learn to make your own clothes you won't have to buy what's in the shops, you can make your own fashion! And probably cheaper.
I am going out for a special meal today so I am currently wearing a long wool skirt in a muted purple plaid (prettier than it sounds), black tights and shoes, pale lilac blouse and my heavy amethyst pendant and earrings. Yup, purple is my favourite colour. I even went and had my hair styled.
Tomorrow is our 24th WA so we are celebrating today because tomorrow is my busy day of the week. I love where we're going, it's the restaurant of a beautiful hotel AND they now have vegetarian/vegan food on the menu!
I feel beautiful.
Yay chickpea! You remind me that I need to dust off my sewing machine and make more use of it.
I'm not sure what I'm wearing on T-day. Probably just jeans and a t-shirt....for the comfort factor.
Yay! That's awesome, chickpea! You should show us pictures of your lovely skirt.
I usually go for jeans with a nice sweater for Thanksgiving. I'll be cooking for my family, so nothing too fancy.
That is so cool, chickpea! You'll have to post pictures.
For the past few years, I have been lobbying my family to wear pajams for Thanksgiving dinner. No go yet. So I'll probably just wear jeans and a warm shirt since there is a chance for snow!

I have family visiting for Thanksgiving and my twin and I went to visit them on sunday afternoon. I had just woken up and threw on a pair of pink flannel w/skulls pj bottoms and a white t-shirt for the drive out to my mom's. My twin was completely embarrassed by what I was wearing. I was like...who cares...I've got about 30 minutes to visit and then have to turn around and go home in order to go to work early. I'm not looking like a fashion model. Besides if they're family they shouldn't care anyway.
I'm all for your idea of a pj party for thanksgiving.
chickpea...congrats on your skirt. Isn't in great to make something?

Back when we were first married, the family Christmas dinner used to be held here, though my SILs brought the food (what? Eat American food? Nonsense! How disgusting!--them not me). Since it was on our turf, DH and I tended to not change from our regular round-the-house winter wear--ski pajamas, robes and slippers.
Deal with it, rents! ;D Or as my old mother used to say, "They're coming to see you, not your clothes."
D*mn straight.
oh geez!!! I haven't even thought of what to wear for thanksgiving at my husband's sister's house!!! I usually try to look cute around his family.....maybe my new white sweater and a nice pair of pants? I don't know! I have a thing I'm going to wed. night that I would like to look nice for too! We are going to my parent's house for Thanksgiving dinner on Saturday & I'm running in a race that morning, I'll probably just wear the t shirt they will give out at the race & a pair of comfy pants there, I never dress up for my own family.
ooo Congrats! Sewing is so much fun.
Since I will be cooking all day, probably nothing too exciting. Though if I do get a chance to shower & change after the cooking but before the eating I may whip out a pretty skirt & top.
Yes I want to see pictures! Chickpea is so pretty. ;D
Oh and it'll be neat to see the skirt she made, too. ::)

Lisa, never wear white when you're having a holiday meal...you are just begging to spill something brightly coloured and impossible to remove on it...like say cranberry sauce, wine etc.
I don't have to deal with the whole Thanksgiving Day angst...since here, we have another name for it: Thursday. (There is no such day here in Spain. Guess they're an ungrateful lot! ;D)

i want everyone to be able to see.
