Is anyone sure that Aveda hair dyes are vegan?

Hi everyone.

I have an appointment at an Aveda salon to get a full color, but before I show up, I thought I'd ask if any of you are completely sure that Aveda hair dyes are vegan.  I've copied the ingredient list below, and a few of those ingredients look mighty suspicious.

I definitely want to go a salon.  There will be no at-home mishaps for me.  If Aveda hair dyes aren't vegan, do you know of any salons that use vegan hair dyes?

Or, have any of you purchased dye in the store and brought it to the salon for application?  If so, how understanding was your stylist?

Thanks!

I think the only non-vegan things they ever put in their products are bee-derived.  Honey, as mdvegan mentioned, is in some of their shampoos and styling products and I think they use beeswax in their eyeliners/lipsticks?  But they don't use any other non-vegan ingredients.  You should be safe.  You can always call the company or ask the salon people--Aveda requires their employees to go through special training, so they should be fairly knowledgeable about their products.

Isn't glycerin one of those that can go either way?  I'm curious because I haven't found a concrete answer yet to current methods for processing glycerin and hoped one of you would know! :)

It can, but I'm almost 100% sure that Aveda's only non-vegan ingredients are bee products.

I'm glad to know that there is a vegan (normal) hair dye. The only one I knew of (w/o really looking into it) was the Manic Panic line.
