Birth order poll!

I had a TA once who could guess anyone's birth order based on her personality, and he could also often guess the gender of the siblings!  I'm just curious what birth order we all are, seeing as how we all share the personality trait of being veg*n.

Directions:  Choose the one you most identify with.  Like, if you have a sister who is twenty years older and so was not living at home when you grew up, maybe you want to pick "only child." Or, if you have a twin who, of course, is only slightly older or younger, you may or may not want to count her as another person in sibling order.

I am the oldest of three!

this is actually my party trick...lol, seriously! Gender and everything...weird.

Neat, VHZ!  So what do you base it on?  How do you know?  Or is that secret?  ^-^

I think its just intutitive. I watch people a lot and observe things like the way they hold thmeselves, the faces they make, the words they chose to express themselves, the clothing they wear....I think that what I can SEE is a huge part of it, becasue I would never have guessed anyones birthorder based on knowing them througfh vegweb. Im noat sure why I can do this...it just seems obvious to me. To a less acurate degree, I can often get a feel for the season a person was born in- if they were born around a particular holiday or whatever. I dont know how I know that one either.  :o

I'm the youngest.  I was born 12 minutes after my twin.  I also have a sister that's almost 4 years older that I haven't spoken to in almost 3 years.

My twin never had a problem (at least not that I know of) of being the middle child.  We were always together and my parents gave us the same in everything.  Now, as far as the two of us, my grandparents used to give us half of what they gave my older sister because of the twin thing until my dad put a stop to it.  As in, if my older sister got $50 for x-mas, Julie and I each got $25.

Hmmm, so far we are split pretty evenly between oldest and youngest, and fewer people are in the middle and only children.  By "middle of four or more" I meant "not the oldest or the youngest in a family of four or more."  I separated out middle child of three because I feel like it's kind of a special case, what with the Jan Brady syndrome and all.  In retrospect it might be unclear.

I think we have classic three-children dynamics between my sisters and me.  I am the over-achiever, does-well-in-school oldest child, and very neat and organized.  Second sister is more laid back, messier, more interested in being social than doing school work.  Third sister can do no wrong, but she also has a bit of an artsy/emo streak.  She can get away with pursuing art/doing whatever she wants as a career because she as two older sisters who will have stable jobs.  I chose to study engineering even though it is not my favorite thing because I knew I could succeed at it and gt a job in it, though I doubt I will anymore.  And second sister has changed her major five times and her college once.  Like I said, pretty classic Brady Bunch, "Marcia, Marcia, Marcia!" dynamics.  And all of us have hair of gold, so it works.

I am an only child, well at least my mom's only child and she is the one I grew up with for the most part (hence why my mom is so happy I am having a baby!).

I do have a half brother and half sister, the sister is 14 years younger, and the brother is 20 years younger, and I never see them that much, so never have developed any kind of relationship with them.  I see them maybe once every 2 years on average.

I am very spoiled, was the only grandchild for a large part of my childhood on my dad's side, and on my mom's side I have a cousin who is a year younger, but grandpa always told me that I was his favorite grandchild.  (I miss grandpa, he used to let me eat all the tomatos out of his garden, and ride his riding lawnmower, and would always tell me to "go play out in traffic!")

I'm the oldest of 2.  My sister is 23 months younger.  I totally have an older sibling personality.  I have always been very independent, ambitious (until lately, ha!) and organized.  My sister is the complete opposite.

One thing I find interesting, is that my mom was the youngest in her family, and I've always felt like she "sympathized" with my sister for being the youngest.  Growing up, when my sister and I would fight, my mom would always take her side, say that I had "no idea what it was like being the youngest child."  To which I replied, she had no idea what it was like to be the oldest!

I am the youngest of two.  I have one brother who is four years older than me.  We never got along growing up.  He always disliked me and shut me out for a reason I'll never know.  Now that we are both in our thirties he can stand to me in the same room with me, but we have no real relationship.  If we are ever left alone together we literally sit in silence or it's just really awkward small talk.  We see each other for certain family functions or holidays, that's all.  I couldn't even tell you where he lived because I've never been there and he's never told me.  I feel like I never had a brother in the true sense of the word.

I'm the oldest of two kids (one brother, eighteen months younger than me) and the oldest of four grandchildren.

I have to say, I'm the more bizarre one. I go towards veg*nism, liberal politics, punk rock, travel and new people. My brother's more reserved and tends to stick with what he knows. He's more observant about people and knows how to manipulate them. We've always been good friends because we're close in lots of interests and in age, but I still like to quote that statistic about the older child having on average 5 IQ points more than the younger!

Also, they've recently shown that the older child does in fact often have a harder time - they're the 'tester' child, and parents chill out a bit more once they've had a practice run. I remember being really bitter that by the time we hit 10 or 11, our bedtimes started to be the same!

Maybe it's different for the girls, but being the youngest meant getting beat up regularly for me. My brother nicknamed me "the mosquito" because he always wanted to smack me. I actually tried to emulate him up until I realized he was an asshole. Were trying to be closer now, but he's always been distant and closed off - his current wife is actually not insane, and I think she prods him a bit about it (she comes from a large close-knit family).

A long time ago I was the baby of the family, but I'm much happier being the uncle now. I get to be the cool super-scientist uncle  :>  and it pleases me to no end  :)

I'm an only child - my parents stopped at perfection (I'm totally kidding!!)  I'm not your stereotypical spoiled only child but I am really independent as a result - I can spend days alone and be okay with it.

I am the oldest grandchild on one side and the youngest on the other, but due to being in a military family, I've never spent much time with my cousins.

i can definitely agree on the getting beat up part :( my brothers would always gang up on me because my younger bro wanted to be buddies with my older brother. before philip (my little brother) was born, andrew and i were buddies sort of..i guess another kid changed it. hm. weird.

ooo what kind of scientist VF? (:
