ponycakes, the jello one is hilarious!  my favorite parts:

"I say, old fellow, have you noticed a lot of Jell-O about? It's the damndest thing. Wifey used to put out cake after supper. Big chocolate bastards; delicious. But now she thinks we're poor because she read that RCA stock is down. Really. Family money's in railroads and gold - don't know what she's on about. Really ought to keep her from reading the papers at all, I suppose; don't know where else she'd get these damnable ideas. Anyway, now it's in the salads, too. Jell-O! Imagine."

"She catches sight of herself in the mirror, and realizes that she's still a little high from the afternoon reefer she partook with the deliveryman. She could be fired for this. And then what? And THEN what? How could she be so STUPID? Surely Jeeves noticed; surely Jeeves will say something. And with the baby and all - oh, Lord, how has it come to this?"

"Halle-fuggin' LULAH! Factories may be closing, lines of grim scraggly men forming around the corner by the soup kitchen, anarchists may be fulminating in the park but BY GOD America is on the job: Jell-O no longer requires boiling water. Take that, you doubters, you Reds, you Wobblies, you Bolshy fiends who say we've lost our national will. FDR is on the job, and America is on the mend. Haha!  Savory jell-o salads are one of the most repulsive foods I can think of.  WHY?!
