I was searching google for a 220v food dehydrator and came across my own vegweb post... I just think that's creepy...

see how famous you are? i've also found vegweb posts in google hunts. just think of all the people who find the diva thread or something like that and are like, hellllllo!

hahahahaha I think that is how I first found this forum!!! I typed in "cooking with tofu" or vegitarian cooking or something!

holy crap little2ant you're right! ... if i delete my account will all my posts go away?
I think so.....there was a fight on the recipe comments part yesterday, and I clicked on someones name whose account was since deleted...and the posts weren't viewable either. Might be a question for admin!!

As little2ant mentioned, if someone deletes their account here, their comments remain. Will they disappear from Google? Nope. Once you're in, you're in for good. Even if VegWeb disappeared :o your posts would be on Google. Even on the web, you can't unsay things.
Wow! Good lesson for us all to be on good behavior! I think it's creepy when you come across one of your own post too! That has happended with me on other boards!
oh no! hopefully i haven't said anything too incriminating... my family DOES google me from time to time to check out my myspace (i don't know why because it never changes) and they have said that they saw my vegweb profile before... yikes.
Ooh man. A coworker of my mother's checks out my myspace from time to time...it's a good thing my mother and I have a fairly open relationship!

savvy! I didn't expect to hear from you! Aren't you in the middle of a hurricane? I am glad a life-threatening situation doesn't keep you off of veg web. I can just picture you with your roof blowing off while you are typing on your laptop and checking recipes.

One person who deleted an account comments were not readable any more either.
Due to my past (raised in a cult) I am extremely paranoid in some ways. I Googled my full name and came up with a lot of old posts, some even on a quilting forum that is no longer with us. WOW.

l2a: It's all good, we stayed put and didn't get the worst of it.
With sites like archive.org you never know what will be saved for posterity.
