I'm being screwed at work

And not in a good way. Ok, so I have been working at this god-awful place since July and I am astounded by the horrible management and how I somehow found my way on the manager's shit list. Favoritism abounds at this place and I think she has a vendetta against me. For what reason, I have no clue. But anyway I have so much anger from working at this place and even though I did put my two weeks in I just know they're going to try to push me out sooner( I only work four hours this week, not a surprise at all).

I do not think that it was a coincidence that the day I got three write ups is the same day I think my manager was told I wanted to move into the bar. I have always been given the least amount of hours, in the crappiest shifts and for some reason my manager would always schedule herself with me on Wednesdays, during which she would have about 5 or 6 tables to my 1 or 2. She is horrible in every sense of the word and its really hard for me to not become angry when thinking about my job.

I don't think going to the gm will help either. I'm trying to let go of all my anger and just move on to another job, but I have never been treated so horribly at a job in my life and I am royally pissed that I did absolutely  nothing to deserve this.

I know it will be difficult to finish out these 2 weeks, but it's probably best not to do anything rash or confront anyone. When you apply to a new job, you need a good review from your old employer. I think you've done the right thing by just saying that you and the job don't match and moving on. Chalk it up to experience, I suppose. Good luck!

I know it's awful but at least you aren't trapped there under contract for the next year, or something. Think of the bliss when you finish working out the notice.

I always saw as giving two weeks as an offer to a decent employer.
And the old fashioned 'take this job and shove it' was reserved for
the jerk ones.

I sort of agree with eric...after all if she is this much of a tool would she really give you a good reference?? But then again who knows...

People that make other peoples lives miserable for no reason but their own - suck!

Let's face it.... you aren't going to get a good recommendation from that place.  If you weren't employed there for very long just don't include it on your other job applications.  Sorry you're having such a rough time.  I've been there.  Honestly, if I was you... I'd walk out when I had my 1-2 tables when she had a bunch.  But then again I am mean.  And I may or may not walked out a dinner rush on a weekend... without doing more than just clocking out.

Been there!!!!
It's rough. I have bad luck with jobs in general. It doesn't help that I'm kind of a weird quiet girl and people take it as a personal affront and a reason to dislike me. Are you introverted? A lot of people in jobs that deal with the public are extroverted and treat you like crap if you're not, because they think you're snobby or something. It's unfortunate, but true.

I guess Eric had a good point. At bad employers', they take those 2 weeks that you kindly give them and they think of ways to make you even more miserable, like a punishment. I think I'm changing my vote--tell them to suck it!  ;)b

Actually, I just got a call from another hotel restaurant's manager and he told me I pretty much got the job and I'll start around Wednesday or Thursday. So score.

*****OMG*****
I should totally be really nice to her as long as I can stand it, get her to friend me on Facebook, then give her a link to this thread! Then I'll go to the restaurant a lot, order a lot and never tip her a penny. Woah, karma is SUCH a bitch and the thought of this hag getting her's makes me truly happy. :-D

Tell her: Sometimes dramatic irony bites like a rabid monkey.

(It's not mine. I wish it was.)

Ok, so I just walked out after 15 minutes....and another write up. Now to file a complaint with the company.

Obviously you're not the one with the problem. Unless someone higher up does the hiring, why did this person hire you if she's just going to give you stick? Does she have some kind of sick little problem that requires a whipping child? I will never understand some employers. A friend of mine was hired to work in a sandwich/pizza slice place here. Just a few days after she started, her boss began saying things like, "You can quit anytime you want, there are people queuing up around the block for jobs" or "If you don't like it just go, and don't let the door hit you as you leave." So why did she hire my friend in the first place??

I don't know why managers who work in a very menial environments have such huge egos.  I was quiet but if I don't like someone I do not hide it well. I'm always civil and if I'm in a good mood I will chat with someone quite a bit and maybe it makes the other I don't chat with feel left out? I don't know but it also feels like she likes certain types of girls since all the other ones have blonde or red hair and like green or blue eyes....I don't . And all the past waitresses I've met were blonde too..

Oh and I'm used to being the manager's "favorite" because I focus on my job and not talking about b.s. while working.

I do think it's funny that people with the tiniest bit of power can let it go to their heads. I had a nasty boss in high school who was really mean and pushy, and she hated the fact I was quitting to go to college. Sometimes I think she resented me for that, and she was stuck in crappy podunk nowhere, doing meth (noooot lying--did this in the bathroom. Reason 2 I quit). Those people never do anything with their lives.

Congrats on the new job! All seems well for you now.
