live crab in my work's fridge

yes, that's right, there's a live crab in my work's fridge (it belongs to one of the decorators the firm's got in - I guess for his dinner not his pond!). My boss actually came into my room to explain that it was there in case I found out for myself, and he's not particularly happy about it either.
It's "bagged" up but it's moving and I feel so distressed for it; my work colleague has kindly said he'd fetch anything from the fridge so as to avoid me seeing it again, but I know it's alive, in a plastic bag and in a fridge ... and I'm like, eww, what do I do/say?
I feel f'kin sick, I'm tearing and feel a bit panic-d.anxious
free it!
I thought about freeing it first of all but I don't know if its freshwater or from the sea, plus there's no immediate watery place I could take it to give it a chance I'm willing him/her by telepathic communication to claw the b'stard when he goes to take it from the bag ...
Yuck, that's uncalled for! Free Crabby! (Like Free Willy!)
Write a passive-agressive note, purporting to be from the crab (or its mother) and put it with the bag. It won't help, but it might make you feel marginally better. That's what I'd do, anyway.
Adopt him!

Aw, poor little thing! Yeah, I'd free it too. Maybe you could take him to an aquarium store and see if they can identify if he's fresh or salt water and then release him appropriately.
