I had this like, super scary presentation to do last week (it's the only thing of that type for the year, and it's something we hear about from first entering vet school, AND it's not associated with any course, so no one knows how it's actually supposed to be delivered.... yeah).

Anyway, after researching/rehearsing my topic so much, it no longer even interested me, so I was like well... this sure won't interest anyone else! ('cause I'm usually the type to be way interesting in some very sciencey aspect, whereas everyone else just wants to get their grade, so if i find it uninteresting... uhoh). to add to that, we're supposed to use all the technical terms and stuff, so I did, but I think that actually lost a lot of the audience (classmates or lower classes). In the end though... I realized when it came time for questions, the two faculty who actually would know about the topic showed up (eek!) and they had questions (WHY MUST THEY TORTURE ME), but after everything was over, they came up to me and were like, that was really interesting! and went off on their stories about this topic (it's a "newer" disease that's underdiagnosed, so there's the whole frustration of trying to get other vets to look for it and not having enough info to go off of). The grading professor, for reasons of technical jargon and my boring-but-intellectual-sounding monotone, thought the presentation was great. I haven't gotten a grade, but whatevs, I think I survived!

SO GLAD IT'S OVER. This thing had been in the back of my mind for months.

i know what you mean. now i can forget about giving a speech until... ever.

I did NOT take a sleeping pill last night. Fell asleep after midnight on my own. I was sooo tempted because the tinnitus was LOUD but I managed not to.

I went out for my power walk at 9.15 AM. I didn't even check my email first. Now that's dedication!!  ;D

I think I've just convinced another couple to use cloth diapers on their impending baby.  ;)b Ok, so I guess they were considering it already, but after I gave them my personal testimony and some links they seem to be totally convinced.  That's ~5000 disposable diapers that won't be going into the landfill (more if they have more kids and use cloth on them too).

And this is the 3rd couple I've converted.  8-)

I don't have any VW people on facebook.  I guess I thought I'd always be on the computer if I had VW on facebook as well as VW...but I'm pretty much on the computer all the time anyway, so I may as well add all of you on fb.
