Simply a Delightful Day in my Little Vegan World
I started the day by meeting a freecycler at the Asheville City Market to get some earth friendly carpet remnants. It was my first time at the market, and I got to eat a VEGAN tiramisu cupcake! Plus got some fresh vegan bread and organic arugula.
Then, we went to Organicfest (my 4th one I think) and there was VEGAN icecream galore! I had icecream with Crispy Cats mixed in (that's a local company that has gone national/worldwide). Plus a vegan muffin....
then I ate at my favorite veg restaurant (Rosettas) and had a Buddha bowl, and fries with vegan queso. MMMMMMM
Back to Organicfest for a huge serving of icecream!
Noah picked up some AR literature and was very interested in the content.
We stopped at the shoe store and there were some really cool cobra shoes (Noah needs new shoes) and I was like, "look how cool these are! Do you want them!??" He loved them but then I read the label and they had leather. I told him they were leather and I said, do you still want them? I would have let him get them, but he just wrinkled up his nose and said NO! I am so proud of him for choosing AR over cool shoes. What a guy!
I called my grandmother on the way home, and she tells me she has checked out a bunch of vegetarian books to learn about vegan vs. vegetarian, etc....because she is interested! She is 81.
Then she tells me her grandkids on the other side of the family (her husband's) have decided to be vegetarian. One is in high school, the other is in college. I was shocked! The last time I saw them I think they were eating wings. I secretly did think the one looked "vegetarianish" though ;)b You know the look!
I think I might invite them to vegweb! (after I delete all my gross stories first or course).
THey are pretty cute too (for the young ladies of vegweb!)
OH, and to top off the day, Noah came home and cut up his AR pamphlets and made a really COOL collage! Its hanging above my vitamix. I will post it soon after I take a picture and add it to this thread.

WOW, L2A. Sounds like a day in paradise! I wish your son went to my school! He sounds so awesome.
Your day was way better than mine. I spent the better part of the afternoon cleaning the house...it was raining so I didn't mind.

mam, I miss them being little. Noah sounds like the cutest kid in town. Although I am sure Lyle is just as sweet in infant form. ;)b Kids can make you smile when just the moment before you wanted to cry. Glad you had such a great day.

Wow, thats an awsome day! Isn't it great to have such pride in your kids? I know when my daughter came home with her questionairre from her teacher about what she would like to learn about in third grade and she wrote in AMIMALS. Im glad she has such compassion. I love Noah's collage, he is so talented! You are a great MOM!
that collage is awesome - and unexpected stuff like your grandma checking out veg books is always so encouraging.
on a side note - anyone else notice that usually only in a veg restaurant will you find a buddha bowl next to fries and queso on the same menu. i love the total variety at some veg places!
