An old college friend unexpectedly drove through town Friday, so a few of us got together for dinner.  We ended up going to a Bar/Restaurant.  They had little in the way of vegetarian and nothing vegan (except house salad--hold the bacon, cheese, and eggs).  Anyway, I asked the waiter what the soup of the day was.  He said he would have to check.  So I said, "Ok, if it's vegetable, can you see if it has veggie broth, or beef/chicken?"  So when he came back, he said it was beef vegetable.  >:(  Gross, but not surprising, right?  So, one of my friends (who doesn't understand my veg*nism, but doesn't chastise it either) looks at me and says, "What's the point of that??"  Why would they make vegetable soup and put beef in it?  That's pointless"  It was a nice surprise to hear someone else (a meat eater) say something like that. :)
