What are you pretending not to know?

i saw the question posted on another forum i lurk around, thought it might be interesting to post here. not necessarily to get answers (though it'd be interesting to hear) but kinda just to make yah think....

as for me, on a daily basis i pretend not to know customers are outright lying when they call in to verizon wireless customer service and act like they don't know where download charges on their bill came from

I'm pretending not to know that there's a bit of mold on my bread...  Trim, discard, consume!

I do that all the time... Why waste food?

I'm pretending not to know that as I walked to and from the library this afternoon, I made myself even more sad by looking at all the couples, families, and groups of friends in restaurants or stores, at Starbucks, or walking/playing in the park. I am sooooo lonely! I'm also pretending not to know that my mum hasn't responded to my last 4 emails or so. She's busy. Everyone is too busy for me, I guess. (Waa waa poor me.)

Oh, and I'm pretending not to know that I really don't like my roommates.

I'm pretending not to know that my brother only thinks I'm cool when he's drunk.

I'm pretending not to know that I only have one friend that lives near me that will ever miss me for real.

I'm pretending not to know that the aforementioned (male) friend wants to hook up with me.

I'm pretending not to know that  a lot of my friends don't seem to want to talk to me.

Yeah, totally! Since we're suspending disbelief anyway, why don't we pretend not to know we all have to go to work/school/whatever tomorrow morning and go to the Farmer's Market instead? Meet up around 10 am (after sleeping in, of course), go have a delicious and ridiculously low-cal breakfast of Egg McVegans and vegan cupcakes, then go on over to the market to buy our favorite veggies? I hear avocados will be 29 cents a piece...

Then we can go save lots of animals, and see all kinds of nature!

Then when I get back, all of my dishes will be done, and the back room will be clean! I'm so excited.

I'm pretending not to know that I'm relieved to be down in Texas so I don't have to deal with my grandma's hysterics since my uncle's accident.

I'm pretending not to know that it's bothering me that it's been 5 months since I moved down here and I still haven't found any cool friendly people to hang out with.

Oh and all my lesson plans for the semester will be done by the time we get back!  Ah brilliant! What a lovely day we've got planned, ladies!!

I am sorry to say it and hope I am wrong but I am pretending not to know that whoever gets elected on Tuesday it probably won't make much difference.

I'm pretending not to know that I have to vote next Caturday for my country's government, and I don't know if it'll do any good. :oh:

I am pretending not to know that I know nothing at all.

"He who knows, and knows that he knows, is wise--listen to him.
He who knows, and knows not that he knows, is a child--guide him.
He who knows not, and knows that he knows not, is a seeker--teach him.
He who knows not, and knows not that he knows not, is a fool--shun him."

Supposedly a Persian proverb, but it sounds more like a 19th century aphorism to me.

I am pretending not to know that I know nothing at all.

I don't pretend this anymore. It's so freeing to admit that the only thing I know is that I know nothing at all! All of a sudden, my life has become so much less complicated and pretentious...

I am pretending not to know that I'm going to stand in a LONNNNNGGGGG line tomorrow morning at 7am to vote. Guh.
