What dont you eat as a vegan?

People have a vision of what vegetarians/vegans are..they think you eat salad all day and throw up at the sight ofmeat? Im unlike most vegans.
Im not a big fan of salad, I dont eat vegan cheese( still freaks me out) and I dont really like juice.
I want to know what dont people eat besides meat and dairy...

Kombucha.
Seitan.
Tempeh.
Sprouts.

If something was definitely vegan, I'd try it, hands down.  I'm open.

Kombucha is THE BOMB! Bizarre/ Disgusting at first but for some reason you want more! Vinegar-ey deliciousness! But I like pickled/ fermented things... I'm brewing my own because i <3 it so much! Though once you know how kombucha is made it is a bit disgusting... I just try not to think about it

I've never tried kombucha, but it looks... gross. With the sediment and all. The other day we were at a restaurant with kombucha, and my boyfriend was thinking of trying it. I was like DON'T DO ITTTT!!! Aaand he didn't. But maybe I should have let him, so he could tell me what it's like.

Seitan is weirdalso. The only time I had it and like it was at M Cafe and it was breaded and fried.
Anything breaded and fried is good. But having alone..its nasty and rubbery.
Lately Ive just been sticking to beans and soy proteins that are made right.

Oh, oh, I finally thought of something I don't like. Black licorice! Not delicious!

Licorice is also not vegan, right? due to gelatine?

The only thing I WILL.NOT.EAT is olives. I think they're gross, especially the green and purple ones. (I've gotten to the point where I don't have to obsessively pick black olives out of stuff, but that doesn't mean I like them). It annoys me because it feels like every vegetarian thing made from a pizza/sandwich place is covered in them.

I also have never had a pickle in New York City that I've liked. They're all either half-sour and not pickly enough, or they're really garlicky and odd.

Some things I don't really like but will eat if in front of me are:

--Radishes--got some in my CSA box last year and didn't like them much--but they got eaten, usually in a salad with cucumbers (which can do no wrong in my book.)
--Russet potatoes--especially mashed potatoes. Not a huge potato person in general, but russets are just SO starchy.
--Cauliflower. It gives me a headache.
--Licorice, although licorice tea is okay.

Then there are all sorts of things that I'm just picky about how they're cooked--zucchini, green cabbage.

Never met a fruit I didn't like! And red bell peppers might be my single favorite food in the world.

I love Kombucha, seitan, tempeh, mushrooms, and cilantro.

I can't believe I forgot about olives. Yeah, I don't like them either. I LOVE half sour pickles though!!! YUMMMM!!!

And yes, licorice tea is actually incredibly delicious. I am a big fan of Stash's Licorice Spice tea.

ooo..yea! i forgot olives as well..they are gross!
i think most people(omnis included) hate black licorice.
I also forgot about radishes..ugh

my mom is a vegetarian.(lacto ovo). she actually inspired me to become vegan. shes always been a role model of perfect health and eating right. She eats every veggie (except mushrooms). she is really good. SHe eats brussell sprouts(UGH) and radishes and...everything...i admire her but the taste of those are off.

Oooo..WATER CHESTNUTS. how could I forget? lol

i hated bananas until like 2 years ago... suddenly after being disgusted by them i felt like eating one... i only like them when they just start to ripen... not when they get all black and mushy... but the mushy ones are good frozen in smoothies

brussels are awesome BTW... try roasting them... i had them steamed and they were mushy and disgusting... roasting is key... cauliflower is great roasted as well

The sediment in the GT bottles is just fruit puree I believe if your talking about flavored kombucha

You are a crazy person LOL... who doesn't <3 potatoes? It's like saying you hate corn... Who hates corn? Nobody

lol, i agree about the corn. but i understand about russets. after perusing the other varieties of potato (yukon especially), it's hard to go back to russets. They kind of taste... sour + water + metallic? (if steamed or baked. i'll eat fries any day.)

of course russets aren't the greatest potato, i always have to peel mine because of nasty hiding blacks spots, but they aren't bad or anything... besides spots being rotten i haven't noticed them to have a weird taste... i don't eat potatoes that much though

oh, i know what you mean! Yukon gold are the epitome of a perfect potato. My parents grow them in their garden every summer, and by the time they're gone in the middle of winter we have to switch back to Russet, begrudgingly. Go Yukon Golds!

I could say the same thing to you about oranges.

And my mom hates corn. She ate it too much over summers growing up and now can't stand the stuff.

Also, if I'm going to eat potatoes I like new potatoes, or yukons, or red potatoes. Love them in hash browns or potato salad. They keep their shape so much better than russets.

If it helps, I categorically dislike what I call "Sunday dinner" foods. It was probably part of the reason I went veg as well. Mashed potatoes epitomize "Sunday dinner foods" to me.

Actually, the other way that comes out to me is that I HATE gravy. Even vegan gravies.
