I think I am going to go as a French maid.....

I'm hosting a halloween movie night - inspired by the horror movie a day thread. I'm also dressing up as a vampire - kind of ironic, as a vegan.
I love halloween! I'll be making some halloween cookies this weekend!!!
I'm dressing up as the cranky vegan b!tch that lives at the end of the cul-de-sac.
That's not really a "costume" for me, though. Oh well.

You can put little drips of carrot juice at the corners of your mouth and creep everyone out even more! All the omni's will say, "Is... is that.... carrot juice? NOOOOOOOO!"
I shall be dressing up as a vegan prostitute, and then get into lengthy discussions about if my profession allows me to be vegan or not.
My hubby and I want to be Gumby and Pokey but the costumes are suprisingly hard to find.... ??? So I think I might go as a 401k auditor since the one I've been dealing with for the last year is pretty darn scary ;)

Aaaaanywaaaay... I don't know if I'm going anywhere for Halloween yet, BUT if I do, I'd like to go as Jerri Blank from "Strangers with Candy." I'm not sure most people would know who she is, but it'd give me a chance to pad my jeans, wear hideous clothes, practice my overbite and use bad posture. :D I've been wanting to do this for a couple years now. I love me some "Strangers with Candy!"
EDIT: Plus, I'll get to act highly sexual (in a gross, lewd way) around all the men (and women) around me. ;) ;D

I just don't know if I can scrounge the materials in time for this year's festivities. I may just end up wearing Magenta's maid outfit (from the Rocky Horror Picture Show) that I made two years ago.

YES! Right now the frontrunner for this year is Dr. Franknfurter! I just don't know if I can bring myself to actually do it. But, if I can't think of anything else then I'll have to go to the store to buy some fishnet stockings...
Except usually I go with a group of people and do the group costume thing, so Rocky Horror Picture Show may be a bit of a hard sell...

heh, yeah...I'm wondering if I'd even have the confidence to wear the costume out in public if I ever got around to making it. and it really does seem pretty demeaning--a woman portrayed in a subordinate, sexually exploiting way; it is her "slave" costume, after all--but it's such a great costume!

That is one of the greatest posts I have seen! On a side note my friends are dressing up and I am going to visit them but I have not decided what I want to be. I usually go naughty, but I am done with college and am not sure if I want to go down that path again.
I can't dress up since I have to work but I am molding my sister's hair into horns and coloring them red for her job.
I'm going as Magenta from the Rocky Horror Picture Show--I used to be apart of a RHPS troupe yers ago, so I'm reprising my role :D

Do it! That would be awesome. Gumby is the cooler one though, so if you find the costumes insist on being Gumby. Ah memories of childhood.
Baypuppy's treasure troll idea would be good too. Electric blue would knock their socks off. But you have to be brave to be a treasure troll... they don't really wear clothes if I rememeber them correctly.
I'm gonna be a cow for the fourth year in a row. It's a fairly standard custome but has one big surprise. One of the four teats of the udder has a tube attached to the inside of the custome that runs up to my shoulder and down to my hand/wrist, where I hold a concealed squeezie thing full of liquid. When I squeeze it squirts from the udder. It's a riot. Soy milk would be cool but people wouldn't appreciate that on their clothes so I use water only. ;D

I'm going to be Supergirl, because that's the kind of nerd I am.
I'm kind of sad that now that I'm all "grown-up" the costumes are less... scary, and more... sexy (for women). I'd rather be dressed up in a sheet or toilet paper than be a "sexy nurse" for halloween or something like that.
I was always kind of peeved that the "boy" costumes were the scarier ones whereas girls had princesses. fairies. fairy princesses. mermaid princesses.
I was going to be Queen Elizabeth (collar, hoop skirt, and all!) again this year, but it was kind of hard to transport to school ??? Maybe next time.
