Would I be nuts to do this?

I saw an exercise bike on e bay for about $600 less than the orginal price but it needs to be picked up. Also it is an older model and is not being sold now but looks exactly the same.
The catch its a 7hr. drive ONE way to pick it up.Well I do have a prius and its a pretty easy drive. I think I'll pass baypuppy's hood.
What do you think? Nuts? My bf said he'll go.
I'd drive 7 hours to save $600 bucks....although I think I'd ask them the dimensions of the bike to make sure you can fit it inside a prius. Those cars are pretty small.
Yeah the new model ones now sell for $1099 so its more like $900 savings since I was going to get that one.
How much is gas where you are? For me, gas being $4.40/gallon, it probably wouldn't be worth it. If you're sure it'll fit in your car, you have plenty of $$$ and gas isn't a worry, and you were planning on buying it anyway... then yeah, do it. Just make sure you get all the specs/info before you go. It'd suck to get there and them be like "oh hai, this and this and that are busted, sorry!"
Yeah. Gas is the determining factor. A Prius gets better mileage in town, so if it's a lot of freeway driving, it won't be exceptional mileage.
When I first read this, I thought you said "bike" like a regular bike..and I thought...yeah, do it! But, I'm not so excited for an "exercise bike..."
But, of course it's all up to you, and you've probably already decided by now! ::)

yeah....I have heniated discs in my back and neck and its the only exercise that doesn't hurt it. I'd rather a treadmill, but I need another year to heal. The bike supports my back.
No I haven't decided since its an older model (2005...gasp!) and not sure HOW different it is from current model.

I understand! Have you asked the seller questions? Have you gotten answers, yet? I always ask all possible questions, before deciding.
I'm an Ebay fanatic. :D
visit baypuppy!
I think anything that will benefit your health and well-being is NOT nuts! I spend way too much on good organic food and lots of people think I'm nuts. If getting an affordable exercise devise will make exercising a practical part of your life, go for it! ;)b
Anything that can be considered as preventative health insurance is totally justified in my world!
My bf is amazing. Since its a 14hr. round trip drive and probably sitting in a car that long wouldn't be good for my back , he offered to drive there and back by himself! :)>>>
