Is this okay? I only excercise in the weekends.

During the week I work too darn much to have the energy to excercise.  I  hate doing things like jogging or walking around the city blocks, just hate it.  If I excercise it has to be out in the woods somewhere.  I excercise a lot on the weekends when I go geocaching. If I lived in Colorado there wouldn't be any problem at all!  But do you think just excercising on the weekends only is enough?

I live in Houston, TX!  Sweating for me is no problem, all I have to do is sit out on the front porch!

I think it's more important to have an active lifestyle during the week than to "exercise"  per se.  My doctor says to exercise at least once a week; I don't have to do it every day because I take the bus (and walk) to work, cook for myself, am a student, volunteer, etc.  I can't stand exercising...it's so pointless and repetitive, but my doctor says I'm getting what I need and I'm actually healthier because I'm active all day rather than sedentary for 23 hours and then get on a stepper or something.

It's easier to exercise when you're accomplishing something.  I think if you think before you get in the car or elevator, do some of the things you enjoy "the hard way" and do everything purposefully, you're just fine.  "30 minutes three times a week" or whatever is advice for people who drive everywhere, don't take breaks at work and have no hobbies.  I have the feeling you're fine!

Better once a week than not at all, but SB is right--work extra walking, stairs, etc into your daily routine and you'll do a lot more than you realise.
