What about a B-12 supplement?

I was also wondering if a B-12 supplement is necessary as well for vegans?. I take the women's DEVA multivitamin w/iron and that has B-12 in it.
Plus some of my foods i eat (cereal, crackers, rice milk) are fortified with B-12. So would a B-12 supplement still be necessary for me to take?
I've heard that the body only absorbs alittle bit of the B-12, so i wasn't sure if an actual B-12 supplement would be better to take?.

I take vitamins with B-12, but I don't take a separate one. I also eat a lot of nutritional yeast, so I am sure I am getting enough. You might try adding some nootch to your diet if you like it.

Does anyone out there take a multivitamin (with b12) plus a b12 supplement too? Is taking both necessary or is one better than the other?
You could try tracking your food for a few days to make sure you're getting the RDA. I like to use Cron-o-meter: www.spaz.ca/cronometer. You can add items to it too very easily, so you could input any supplements you are taking.
