I LOVE pilates.  I have the Winsor pilates ones (a friend gave me them) and the Denise Austin one.  The Winsor ones are better, but the Denise Austin one is very good and also has a yoga workout.  I also like the Denise Austin personal trainer DVD, with segments for upper body, lower body, etc.

I also like The Firm. :)

My mom gave me a copy of that and said it's pretty hard.  I never got around to trying it because I go to the gym.  Since you reminded me of it, I'll have to find it.

Tae Bo all the way!! But I like the old stuff best. Billy Blanks saved me over the winter when it was too snowy out to ski! ;)b

Carmen Electra's Aerobic Striptease Fit to Strip video (w/ Michael Carson).  It's killer!

Is that one really good?  Like, does it give you a good workout?  I want it.

I really dig this DVD. It's easy on the body, but works you out in places you never knew you had. Plus, it's fun, relaxing, and makes ya feel kinda sexy. Win!

ETA I have the Sacred Shapes DVD.

I think that willwolf had posted a link some time ago for www.videofitness.com, which is a great place to check stuff out.

Hey, thanks mdvegan, you beat me to it.  Yes, Videofitness is wonderful.  Another great resource for viewing clips and reading reviews on all sorts of workouts is www.collagevideo.com

I finally opened this thread.  The whole time I thought you were talking about mix CDs.

Re: Carmen Electra's DVDs...disks 1, 3-5 are lame, but disk 2 is a good workout.  No dancing or stripping involved.

Oh man, only one out of five.... :-\  I want to learn to strip and get a workout and the same time, Carmen Electra!  Gosh.

I have this whole series ... but I always get discouraged after CD 1. It's the ridiclousness factor. I need to get over it, I know, particularly hearing good things about number two

PS--I felt ridiculous, but on a particularly brave day I modeled some of the moves for DH. He liked it. Or maybe he was humoring me...

And, I know I'm late to the party, but--

I'm a yoga/pilates girl when it comes to DVDs (the Gaiam series and MTV pilates mostly), but back when I had the super-pimped cable I would On-Demand belly dancing for fitness videos (I forget the instructors--they were twins.) Fun, and my abs hurt afterwards.

I LOVE pilates too....of all the work outs I have tried pilates has given me the most noticable results! It's awesome! I like the Gaiam series with Ana Caban and Shape magazine puts out a pilates series (the profits support breast cancer research, I think it's called pilates for pink...) that will kick you butt!

yep, I used to have pimped out cable with on demand..... it was great.....and as soon as I go bored with the routines, they would add new ones!
