Weekly Giveaway: Xan Confections Saintly Sin Collection! ARSeese is the winner!

What goes better with cheese than chocolate? NOTHING. If I could subsist on these two things for the rest of my days (and not die from lack of vitamins and nutrients), I totally would. I would eat a piece of chocolate, and then a piece of cheese, and then a piece of chocolate... you get the idea. One of the best chocolatiers out there right now is Xan Confections. Oh My Goodness, their truffles are To Die For. Literally. Bury me in a box, please. My current favorite are from the Saintly Sins collection (http://xanconfections.com/order/saintly_sins/index.php), and lucky you, we're giving away a 7-piece box of these luscious chocolate truffles to one fabulous VegWebber.

To win the truffles, let me know what your favorite vegan cheese (or chocolate!) is.

Giveaway ends on Tuesday, March 23rd at midnight, PST! Winner will be chosen at random!

Good luck!!

I hope that I don't get penalized for being boring, but we don't have plans for St.Patty's Day...boo hoo...my husband is working late because he is behind on a lot of stuff, and my three kids and I will probably just sit around eating Amy's and watching season one of The Real Housewives of Orange County on DVD...

Favorite cheese?  Daiya, hands down.  Favorite chocolate?  The vegan ones from Lake Champlain Chocolates, in Burlington, VT.  YUM!!!  We visited their factory a few years back, and just swooned-and spent way too much money. :)>>>

Daiya is SO amazing.  I made french onion soup, and it was the PERFECT sub for gruyere!

I used to really enjoy the Mexican-flavoured Veganrella, back when it was nearly the only game in town.  (~1993?)  Not even remotely "cheesey", but a unique flavour that really grew on you.  Well, on me anyways.

I recently tried a block of Sheese (medium cheddar) and couldn't stand it, despite repeated attempts.  Still waiting to see Daiya show up locally, but not holding out much hope.

These days I make my own, mostly using Bryanna Clark Grogan's recipes, or Joanne Stepaniak's.  Even without the meltiness, I prefer the flavour of homemade to most of the commercial blocks I've tried.

I haven't found a vegan cheese that I like yet, perhaps I am beyond the point of craving it.  I've never ordered any specialty vegan chocolates.  Usually I just eat a small handful of vegan chocolate chips a day.  I don't recall a vegan chocolate that I haven't liked.

I like my homemade NY sauces the best. Sheese (cheddar) was ok. As for chocolate - uh, just about anything as long as it's vegan.

I'm addicted to Daiya, cheddar.  It is the best f aux cheese on the market hands down!  I use it in all kinds of recipes or just have it on crackers.  ASs far as vegan chocolate goes, Endangered Species Dark Chocolate with raspberries.

Oh man--cheese and chocolate?? You are talking my language! My favorite fuax cheese is good old nutritional yeast cheesy sauce--I could dump that stuff on just about any thing--second runner up for me is Follow Your Heart mozz--melts great and I love it on pizza! For chocolate--any will be accepted by me--but I have a true fondness for Terra Nostra Rice Mylk chocolate! Yummmmm!

i've never tasted a better truffle (vegan or not) than those from Missionary Chocolates . They're made in Portland, OR and available all over town and in select cities in WA and CA or shipped directly to your door! The Meyer Lemon Chocolate is my absolute favorite--no one is more surprised than me on that one. When we go to Living Room Theater to catch a show, we get Missionary truffles as a special treat. Fantastic.

Picking a favorite vegan chocolate is tough, because there are so many varieties, but as far as cheese goes, I Follow my Heart!
