Last Meal
Well hey there vegweb! You gals and guys are so good at making decisions for me I thought I would bring you in for another one! Tomorrow (Thursday July, 31) will be my last day eating "cooked" food for an entire month (and maybe more if things work out). I want to have a really kick ass "last meal" as a send off into rawness. The best I can come up with is a Chipati from a place i used to work at--and if you don't know what a Chipati is, it's a giant salad stuffed into freshly baked whole wheat bread! They are really yummy! *dang I can't find a picture...well here's the restaurants web site if you want a better description: http://www.pizzahouse.com/Home.aspx?CategoryID=64
Well anyways--now I'm thinking I can do better than bread and salad...so that's where you magnificent people come in--give me some ideas please for a great last cooked dinner--the only stipulation is that if it's someting I make myself I don't want left overs (obviously) so it should be a fairly small recipe!
Thanks peeps!!!! :)>>>
I would prob go out for a nice meal since there won't be many places you can eat out once you go raw. That's just my opinion, though, sorry I can't be of more help!
I'd go hearty with veg sausages, creamy mashed potato, delicious steamed vegetables and onion gravy. Failing that - pizza!
Yes, pizza is good! Or a huge veggie burger!
I second the pizza....or maybe some cheesy bean and cheese enchiladas.

Oh definately splurge, you are going to detox anyway right? So what the hell go crazy, get some indian food, a nice big order of pindi chana perhaps? A big ass veggie burger and some sweet potatoe fries-oh and have a drink for sure, its going to be a challenging 30 days for you, so enjoy your last cooked meal!
Oh man! So many choices! I love indian food, we have a new vegan pizza place (well, their not vegan, but they make vegan pizza), I could seriousl go for a giant vegi burger and fries, there's also this veg restaurant that has this incrdible grilled tempha wrap and yam fries...oh wow! this is going to be harder than I thought!!!
Maybe I should make a poll...everyone loves a good poll!
Why don't eat one for lunch and the other for dinner?
I would make up a seitan roulande with homemade stuffing, roasted fingerling potatoes, mushroom gravy, sauted kale with onions and garlic, green bean casserole and a lush cake for dessert! You could totally make this a single serving meal so that you do not have leftovers, aside from the cake. Maybe make a mini cake or give the leftovers away to friends.
mmmm cake.
Am I the only one who would like for you NOT to go raw?
Yay! Pizza House! There is one here too. I miss the milkshakes.

Yeah ya do! Up in the EL! I remember when that one opened, it was such a big deal--I've actually never gone up to that one--ours is defintely better though (that's the word on the PH grape vine).
Yeah! The milkshakes are soooooo good! Too bad they don't use any soy :( Do you like chipati's too?? I love them! The bread is sooo yummy!

Ha, I didn't mean get a full sized portion, miss! :-D
Maybe you could get / make individual sized portions. That way you can do this in style. ;)b
I've done all sorts of fasts, I was raw for a while.. even fruitarian for about half a year.
My advice to you is to skip that last meal, and get out of that mindset. Really, it makes it tougher :)

I can see that. It'd be like trying to quit smoking, but only after that last cigarette.

I just thought it would be nice to have one last good cooked meal--I have been eating up all my "cooked" food and it's a lot of boring left overs--now they are all gone (yeah!) and going out to eat one las time will be nice since I won't be able to do it for awhile.
