Broccoli with Orange Peel and Walnuts
What you need:
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 orange, remove peel in 1" strips with a vegetable peeler
1/4-1/2 cup walnuts (or pecans)
2 cups broccoli, bite sized
juice of orange
2 tablespoons soy sauce (I use reduced sodium)
1/2 tablespoon lemon pepper
1/4-1/2 tablespoon finely minced fresh ginger
What you do:
1. Heat oil over medium heat in a 12 inch non-stick skillet. Add orange peel and nuts. Saute until peel just begins to turn golden on edges. Be careful not to burn! This will take only two to three minutes.
2. Add broccoli and saute five minutes. While cooking broccoli, sprinkle mixture with the orange juice. After about four minutes, add soy sauce ginger and lemon pepper.
3. Stir well and serve either hot, warm, or chilled.

SO HOW'D IT GO?
Let me say that my family loved this recipe! Truthfully, at first, I was concerned. I had tried a recipe from this website yesterday with disastrous results. Today however was another story. I made a few changes. I doubled the broccoli but kept everything else the same including the amount of oil (subbing sesame oil for the veg oil). All I had were raw cashews so I had to sub for the walnuts. And I added a tsp of Braggs. Dished it up over brown rice! Super great! Will be making this again and again. Next time will add pan fried tofu, toast sesame seeds and green onions! IN LOVE!
great recipe
Broccoli is very beneficial for our health.
Simply delicious ;)b
Def one of my new fav brocolli recipes! I loved the zesty taste :)
It was different and very enjoyable!
Wow! :> This was so flavorful and delicious.
My new favorite way to make broccoli for sure... thanks!
LOVED THIS!!! Added some faux beef and put it on jasmine rice. I would encourage anyone considering this to make it!!!
I think my strips of orange peel were too big, at least for my preference. Next time I'll do skinny 1" strips/slivers. But still, it was delicious! I added kale at the end (until just wilted), because I had some to use up — it definitely worked great with the other ingredients. And another modification: I did half walnuts and half slivered almonds... Yum and yum!
Yummy! I got lazy when I was squeezing my orange and just kind of tore it apart and put the whole think in the frying pan. It actually ended up working well! Nice easy dish--thanks!
This was so delicious. i am a complete broccoli feind so of course it had to be good! I have never been much of a fan of walnuts and almost substituted penuts instead, but im glad I didnt. Finished it off with some brown rice and an unreasonable amount of delicious chili sauce! Thanks for the recipe
