Maple Bourbon Tofu
1-1/2 cup orange juice
1 cup soy sauce
1/2 cup sesame oil
5 cloves garlic, minced
3 tablespoons minced, pickled ginger, minced
2 blocks (1lb. ea.) firm tofu, each block cut into three lengthwise strips
1 cup dry stout beer
1/2 to 3/4 cup soy creamer, to taste
1. Add the OJ, soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger together, and marinate 2 sliced blocks of tofu how you like. (I like to slice each block into three thin sheets and marinate them overnight.)
2. Remove tofu from marinade and pan fry or grill. Get a nice brown coating on the tofu. (Because the tofu is coated in sesame oil, you don’t need any more oil.)
3. When the tofu is done, deglaze the pan with the vegan stout beer. Add marinade and reduce significantly, by about half.
4. Add soy creamer to sauce and pour over tofu.
Source: Great recipe from my mom that used to be for pork, but she insisted that I make with tofu. How right she was! Keep leftovers soaking in the sauce. Gets better after the second day. Enjoy!
SO HOW'D IT GO?
I don't see maple or bourbon in the recipe... am I missing something? I can't follow the recipe.
Is this the whole recipe?
1-1/2 cup orange juice
1 cup soy sauce
1/2 cup sesame oil
5 cloves garlic, minced
3 tablespoons minced, pickled ginger, minced
2 blocks (1lb. ea.) firm tofu, each block cut into three lengthwise strips
1 cup dry stout beer
Bizarro world correction. I have no idea why, but this recipe posted with about a dozen ingredients it should not have. I don't know how to edit it unfortunately.
Ignore everything between the beer and the creamer in the ingredients. THEY DO NOT BELONG IN THIS RECIPE. Sorry for the confusion.
