Pubes.

Let's talk about how everyone grooms their pubes.
I really can't stand having any pubic hair. I shave mine, but I do love a good wax. I would get waxed all the time if I didn't have to pay for it and didn't have to wait for the regrowth. The woman I go to uses some awesome kind of wax for sensitive skin and it barely hurts. She's awesome. I always go for the full brazilian. In the mean time I just shave.
Regarding partners, my current partner shaves as well (just by coincidence) and I don't think I could go back from this. Makes things so much more pleasant.
Speak on it!
I shave mine. ALL of it. It takes awhile, but I get it done. The back is the worst. I've tried the male brazilian. Oh make sure your hair is long enough... mine was not. DO NOT ATTEMPT. I thought this would be a good way to break the ice since I'm pretty new here.

you didn't tell them that I was the one that attempted it

I had my suspicions!!
Yes it was Lubi! She was nice enough to try MANY times before telling me my hair wasn't long enough... Thanks Lubi!!!!
ok, so after reading the 14 pages of this entire post i couldn't resist leaving a comment of my own. i have an issue with hair, i cant stand it! this however doesnt appy to when u dont show ur private parts to anyone. now for all u single gals: you see, i hate hair down there, but since the only one that sees it is myself, why shave or wax? i have friends that have been shaving or waxing since they were 14 and for who? themselves? i mean sure, it can get uncomfortable at times, but other then that, its pretty pointless to shave/wax down there. i mean, isnt it all for appearance? so what does it matter when its always covered?
now, i must say, i have waxed just to know how it felt and to see the result. yes, wax. it may hurt, but did u know that by shaving, it makes ur hairs thicker, with a stronger root, not to mention how fast it grows back. i have read in a couple of sites and magazines that this is a myth. its not. i have proof from my legs. i started waxing and the hairs would grow thinner and less. after waxing for 2 years i started shaving from laziness and what a difference! my hairs appeared to be thicker and after a couple of shaves, i waxed and boy did it hurt! i noticed how the roots were bigger and the over all length of the hair longer. so yeah, no myth. stick to waxing down there! it may hurt but after a few more wax jobs, your pubes will be thinner and grow fewer.
sorry for the huge reply, i think i said everything i wanted to. i think its important for all to read. :)
waxing apparently weakens the growth follicle, so the response from shaving might have just been closer to normal/original hair thickness and strength. Also, the hair appears darker/etc because it has not been bleached by sunlight like grown-out leg hair.

Plus the impression of it being thicker is exacerbated by the fact you're slicing off the top of the hair where it would usually be softer and tapered.
I like wooly mammoths. Actually I am not bothered either which way.

Actually I do hair and have spent allot of time with people asking this question. The reason that people think your hair gets thicken when you shave is because all you hair follicles are on growth cycles. They are active and grow for a predetermined amount of time and then fall out but when you shave the hairs stay on the same growth cycle and never get a chance to fall out there for making it appear to be fuller. Also when you shave you cut the hair horizontally making it a blunt edge which will make the hair strand its self seem thicker. When you wax you pull the hair out at the root then only the active follicles grow back while the inactive rest for a time before they grow back which makes it appear thinner. It also lets the hair grow back naturally without a blunt edge. Since every follicle has a predetermined number of hairs it will grow waxing over long periods of time will actually diminish the amount of hair you have. I hope that helped.

Thank You for dispelling that myth. I knew that the whole shaving = thicker hair thing was bs, but I couldn't explain it myself.

bullshit?!
it may not be scientifically thicker but it APPEARS to be.
last time i checked, hairs are all about APPEARANCE.
so if it APPEARS to be thicker, thats all i need for not shaving.
dont u rather have"thinner" hairs that over time grow less of after waxing?

well yeah, when people claim that hair actually grows back thicker after shaving, it IS bullshit.
But the fact that it seems thicker to You is reason enough for YOU to prefer waxing over shaving... and that's just fine.
As for what I would rather have (since You asked)..... perfectly natural, thick-as-they-wanna-be hairs that grow as long as they'll grow, so they're always soft and I never have to do anything except wash 'em.
haha - i cant imagine many 14 yr olds that even have enough to be worth shaving.
Really? I had like a full bush time I was nine. :>
The electric razor makes all the difference. The Seiko CleanCut will not leave a rash or ingrown hairs. Reaaly!
I wanted to save up and buy an electric razor. Thought it would be more enviornmentally friendly maybe than disposables? But I honestly agree that I worry using an electric down-below might make it harder to navigate. In particular, the under-carriage. You know. How do you do your lips with something like that?
I shave now because my bf prefers it and I admit it's sexier. I don't mind, I've gotten used to it but I don't like to "have" to do it everyday, just like I don't want to feel I "have" to wear make up everyday.
I've also been unshaved much of my life and all the men I've been with loved me just the same with just as much gusto.
One thing I don't agree with is that it is more "hygenic" to shave. I don't think this is true. When I didn't shave I had zero hygeine problems. That doesn't come from the hair it comes from within, body chemistry, your diet, your internal hygeine. IT does not come from outer hygeine unless you skip showers. Hair has nothing to do with it. There are many who think hair is the problem, get it all shaved off and still have a problem.
I also don't hate my body hair or my partners body hair (he doesn't shave). Why hate something that is natural and part of yourself? I just don't see anything wrong with it at all...if you want to be natural that is A-Okay to me. I love my man as he is, his natural self and all. I also love myself shaved or unshaved...it's all a part of me. I do believe in looking our best by why put on more "shoulds" in this department?

That is what makes the CleanCut unique. You CAN do everything down there and it's smooth. I mean you can get EVERYTHING smooth and you won't mind using it as part of a daily routine. I's not just an electric razor.

Hmm... Well, maybe, when I have some money set aside I'll look around for that. ;)
I wish there were some reviews on Amazon for it by guys. I want an electric, but normal electric razors burn the hell out of my skin.
Anybody here who's men use it too?
This is a very interesting thread. Such variety, LOL! I personally go through phases. Full, manicured, peach fuzz, bald, waxed, shaved, tweezed, whatever, I'll try it. I think it's important to keep DH interested and entertained, ha. He grooms consistently as well, which I adore :)>>>, because a pube in the mouth is enough to ruin an evening for me :P. Always activates the ole' gag reflex, dunno why.
