Pubes.

Let's talk about how everyone grooms their pubes.
I really can't stand having any pubic hair. I shave mine, but I do love a good wax. I would get waxed all the time if I didn't have to pay for it and didn't have to wait for the regrowth. The woman I go to uses some awesome kind of wax for sensitive skin and it barely hurts. She's awesome. I always go for the full brazilian. In the mean time I just shave.
Regarding partners, my current partner shaves as well (just by coincidence) and I don't think I could go back from this. Makes things so much more pleasant.
Speak on it!
That sound like it would seriously hurt!
How do you see to get all the hairs? Do you use a mirror? Don't the ones right above your clit (on your pubic bone, kinda), seriously hurt? I hate that region, and waxing it once over is enough. I can't imagine picking at it 100 times!
Or do you not do the whole region? I like the idea, I just......don't know.
It isn't that bad! But I've never done the entire area. I generally do like the top inch or so.

I too have these questions. I imagine it to be like plucking those hairs on the underside of your eyebrow that always pinch really badly, except worse because it's, y'know, on your ladyparts.
Yes! Under-eyebrow hairs. Exactly! Ouchies.
It's supposed to hurt less and less the more you do it... but still, you'd have to go through that initial very-painful-phase =/
I'm keeping the lady parts the way they are. I think the cushioning is a good idea, hehe.
Once you do it a couple time it really doesn't hurt. A really bright light and contrasting background and you can see everything just fine.
Yeah, I'll pass on that. I'd sooner wax my own pubes than pluck them.
so, KMK, when you say you wax your pubes do you mean all of them. Or just like a brazilian or something?
I didn't think you meant all of them for some reason.
Yea I've been known to tweeze. It doesn't really hurt. Find of morbidly fascinating/addictive actually.
Just so everyone is clear. . . I'm talking about below the pubic bone. The top part I just trim real short. It actually DOES hurt to pluck up there.

Oh I've never waxed my own, but I do mean all of them. I only get Brazilians. A Brazilian IS all of them! I was just saying that I'd RATHER wax my own pubes than pluck them!
For the ladies. . . I don't know if you can still get them but the Cleancut electric shaver by Seiko cannot be beat. You first have to use one of those personal trimmers with the occilating blades on the tip. They sell under several brands. I even se them stores now. The small teeth on the blades on the those are rounded on top so they will not nick you. You can trim ALL parts with this down to stubble. Follow up with the Cleancut and you get totally smooth results everywhere. The Cleancup is the only electric shaver I know of that leaves no bumps and ingrown hairs. If you keep using the Cleancut at least once a week you don't need the other trimmer any more.

Neat, I'll look into that! I use a normal razor. I've yet to cut myself, but that would be much more convenient!
eta: Probably great for underarms as well.
I just tweeze a section, and I just do it for fun(haha0, seriously, that sounds weirder than it is, I promise! One time when I was about 18, my mom made me a gyno appt and I was freaked out casue I had tweezed a circle out of the middle of my pubes. The dr never mentioned it but I'm sure he thought I was crazy.

Totally for fun! You are not crazy, I concur. Haha about the Dr though!
My first post in three days, and it's about pubes. ::)
I recently purchased a newfangled electric shaver, after having used a seriously antique, but awesome one for a while. The new one is efficient, but kinda weird. It doesn't shave super-close on my legs (which I now believe is the only place I'll use it) but when I used it for my pubes and underarms, the skin got all stingy and irritated. Too many curves and bumps, I guess.
The good thing it that it came with a separate trimmer gadget (evidently designed for the bikini area) which was included in the fair price. The bad thing is that the shaver is rechargeable, whereas the trimmer requires batteries. I hate buying batteries; they're so damned expensive. But I look forward to trying my trimmer down there when I can afford to power it.
As for the underarms... razors are my friend, there, and always will be.
I love watching documentaries online, and I recently watched one that made me think of this thread. The Perfect Vagina is a documentary that was recently produced by the BBC. The film covers the rampant "designer vagina" trend that has emerged in societies not only in the West, but all across the world. The filmmaker explores the disturbing world of labioplasty (a type of vaginal plastic surgery that frankly reminds me of female genital mutilation), topics related to genital grooming (bikini waxing, shaving, etc), and how modern culture is influencing shifting feminine ideals.
If anyone is interested in watching it, I thought it was a pretty fascinating (and at times entertaining) documentary:

ty, newshoes, sounds great!
I shave it all off when I'm broke, but usually I wax it all off. I guess it's called the hollywood or sphynx? I also wax the backside down below (the buttcrack) lol. I have to wax though because with shaving I have to do it every other day, I have waaaay too much hair. It's pretty much the same with the rest of my body :(
