My week in Paradise [caution: photo overload]
So, for anyone who is interested, here is a pictorial representation of our holiday on Rarotonga in the Cook Islands last week.
We bought all this fruit for $6 from the market

which was awesome, but even more awesome was that was all I paid for fruit for the week, even though I probably averaged two mangos, three bananas and a pawpaw a day, because enough fruit fell on our property to keep me going for the rest of the time.
We also had a few of these, fresh fallen from the tree

We went on a cross-island trek, which was amazing, but part way along the entry path I was sad to see this pig chained to a tree : (

I stopped and talked to him for a while, but there was really nothing we could do. His foot was all red and sore from pulling on the end of his rope... : (
Maybe half way up? I don't think this really shows how steep the 'path' behind me really was

Made it to the top!

Because this:

was the north face they recommended you think carefully about climbing!

We also spent a fair amount of time on the beach, and met this dog:

who taught my husband how to climb coconut trees!

The end : )
THE LAST PICTURE IS THE BEST EVERRRRRRRRRRRRRRR <3
It all looks so beautiful!!!! (except for the rope attached to the pig =[ )
That looks like an amazing vacation! :) You couldn't free the pig? :(
You couldn't free the pig? :(
I didn't have anything decent for cutting, and he was knotted up pretty tight.
He did have some food/water available, and I'd like to think he was only pulling on his rope because we were there and he was curious... still made me sad though.
Beautiful pictures!!
So beautiful!
gorgeous + poor piggy + holy crap your DH is fit + how do you manage to stay so cute after climbing a mountain
beautiful.....much jealousness!
That looks like an incredible vacation!! I love the photos. That sign about climbing the rock is funny, but I hope people don't try it unless they're prepared climbers. Anyway, you two are adorable and that last picture totally rocks. <3
Amazing! I'm so jealous....I really need a vacation....
But that poor poor pig - I think that would have traumatized me.
omg that doggy.
squeeeeee.
how do you manage to stay so cute after climbing a mountain
cute? I would say more like sticky and smelly, but ok : )
omg that doggy.
squeeeeee.
hehe, I know. We made friends with heaps of dogs while we were there, but I loved that one and her sandy little nose the best.
I also thought of you when eating fruit all hours of day and night. Man, it felt good!
i was going to comment on the fruit, but i forgot everything when i saw that doggy.
love it!
wow.
all I can say.
Fantastic. Makes me want to move to NZ (more than I already did). The tree climbing pic is the greatest.

I always carry a knife... I guess that is kinda weird. It all looks amazing though! :)
