Procrastination Poll

Alright my fellow vegwebbers!

I have a macro economics paper due tomorrow.  :(  Anywhere from 1 to 3 topics, but a total of 6,000...yes, that's right, SIX THOUSAND words!  :P  I've known about it since the beginning of the semester.  Why then, am I doing it the weekend before its due and while my in-laws are visiting??  And just disregard the fact that I'm here posting this while I should be worried all about the Great Depression!  ::)

*Psff* Are you kidding me? I'm such a slacker *especially at the end of term* I'm supposed to be writtign a paper right now...but you know...vegweb is important too! ;D

How can you really choose one option?  I do all of those things (minus playing with pets because they are not allowed  :( )!  I am world's biggest procrastinator, at least to the point that my school will allow (we have a really unique class schedule).  Two weeks ago, I wrote a 25 page paper in 48 hours even though I had known about it for two weeks.  I guess that I do procrastinate, but my busy schedule also triages my to-do list.

Statistics homework due Tuesday.
Take home Test (final) and paper due Friday for Child/Family Intervention
Stats take home test due next Tuesday
Stats final sometime next week.

I got 1/4 of the stats homework done and about 6/8 of one of the two questions for the Take home test for C/F Intervention since Thursday.
And here I am.

Why isn't napping an option?

Procrastination have become my first, middle, and last name. In fact, this term I have taken procrastination to a whole new level....... called late. Maybe it's because I am so done writing papers. This is technically my last full term and I should be earning my B.S.
I am soooooo burnt out. I have probably managed to destroy my G.P.A. with this term.
But, back to the poll, I could choose the majority of options and add a couple more. I will do anything to put off my work.

Three papers due Tuesday.  1500 words each.
Globalization, fascism, and something else that I'm not even sure what it is. :-X

So of course I have to watch 3 hours of Flavor of Love and see what's kickin on vegweb first

Cooking/baking are my procrastination methods of choice.
Mainly because they are an excuse to eat something.
Luckily, exercise is also one of my methods of choice, so it works out.
:P

I have a light course load this semester as a result of allowing school to kick my butt for the past three years, but I find that my procrastination is even worse!  Just one stupid assignment becomes this momentous task, and I moan and complain about it and find any excuse not to do it.  Sometimes I think things are easier when you have so much work that you don't have the choice to put it off.  ::)

Haha!  I do the same.  "But wait, I have to catch up on Desperate Housewives!"  Of course.

20 min. presentation tomorrow, exam on Tuesday, research paper due Wednesday

The presentation and paper are on on the same topic, thank goodness.  I've only just started reading the papers I need to get through and I'm here instead :)  I've also done 5 loads of laundry, scrubbed the kitchen floor, and cooked a potato curry today.  I'm averaging about 20 minutes per hour working on my homework.

Usually, I just wake up at 4 am the day something is due--hasn't hurt me so far.

I should be (should have been) working on my thesis about the effects managed care organizations have on decisions by hospitals to adopt medical technologies and another thesis about globalization and modern terrorism.  On top of that I'm writing a novel in my spare time and working full time for the next couple weeks.

Despite all that I decided to go to NYC for the weekend and disregard everything!  Whenever I don't want to do something I take little roadtrips to places and remove myself from the environment where the work needs to be done.  It's relaxing and definitely an effective procrastination tool.

And just disregard the fact that I'm here posting this while I should be worried all about the Great Depression!   ::)

AWESOME!  I love the Great Depression era!  So many interesting economic/ethical issues to look at!

Ay yay, this thread was made for me. I have a big paper due on Wednesday, and I only started it yesterday (why yes, I have known about it for the entire semester). What did I do today? Trek all the way out an hour to visit a friend, who I am also planning on meeting out tomorrow night for dinner. Tuesday night is going to be a mess.

You and me both!!  It is never ending.  Between work, school, DH, Bella, and other obligations I am just worn out.  Though, DH and Bella are my happy times.  I'd rather spend good quality time with them than do some assignment that has nothing to do with my career choice because its just a required course.

But speaking school in general.  I've decided to take next semester off.  I only have chemistry courses left (and maybe anatomy depending on where I go for my BS) and CHM I isn't going so well for me.  As in, my professor is a colossal A$$ and a bad teacher to boot!  I had to miss 3 weeks of school due to the CG sending me out of town and he offered me an incomplete.  I get back and he says no incomplete for me.  >:(  Needless to say, I'll be speaking with the department head and possibly the Dean.  Honestly, I'd rather pay (again) to take it over with someone else.  It just sucks because I feel like I've wasted a whole semester!

Someone tell me everything happens for a reason or I'm bound to get all emo-'Whoa is me' over here.  :-\

Wow!  That is a lot of work!  :o  I've learned quite a bit about the Great Depression through this assignment, but nothing beats my Nana telling me about it from a lounge singer's point of view!  ;D

Oh my goodness! I procrastinate so much! I have a ton of stuff due this week and instead of getting it all done, I have been napping! That is my newest way of procrastinating. I take like 3 hour long naps instead of working... Then I go on vegweb!

I'm procrastinating my arse off 'cuz I'm supposed to be looking for a job. I can pretty much waste as much time as I want..... until I RUN OUT OF MONEY.  :o  :o :o  So what am I doing? Thinking about recipes all day, playing computer games (Bubble Bobble, for pete's sake!) and checking VegWeb every half hour or so. Aiieee!!

ohhh boy, i am looking forward to going back next quarter.  (nawt).  my strategy for papers is this:  do a thorough outline first, get your sources together and pull the quotes/stats, and type up the works cited.  then, when all you have left to do is the actual writing of the paper, go downstairs to the bar (it helps if you live above a bar), do three shots of tequila, and then come back upstairs and just let those words flow out of you.  this can potentially backfire, cuz if you get too tipsy you aren't going to be able to type for poo
