Alright my fellow vegwebbers!
I have a macro economics paper due tomorrow. :( Anywhere from 1 to 3 topics, but a total of 6,000...yes, that's right, SIX THOUSAND words! :P I've known about it since the beginning of the semester. Why then, am I doing it the weekend before its due and while my in-laws are visiting?? And just disregard the fact that I'm here posting this while I should be worried all about the Great Depression! ::)
;D I have a biology final tomorrow night and I havent started studying yet! Yay. I have to do a presentation in history too which I havent even started researching, but its not a big deal so much. 8)
I like to do things that keep me from feeling guilty about procrastinating. Usually I'll do 'productive' things like work on a non-school project or clean my apartment. This weekend I didnt really do that though. Yesterday I met up with 3 veg*n friends and we hung out! I knew all of them from online, one I've known in real life for a while, one is from georgia and was visiting, and the last hadnt been interested in meeting till our guy from georgia came to cali. ;D It was very fun! We went to a vegan restaurant and a vegan icecream place. <3 It was like a vegan crime fighting team or something, hanging out with 3 other vegans. I wanted to buy matching outfits n beat up animal abusers. If we had just one more person we could each have a letter on our shirt and stand next to eachother to spell out vegan ;D
I'm procrastinating my arse off 'cuz I'm supposed to be looking for a job. I can pretty much waste as much time as I want..... until I RUN OUT OF MONEY. :o :o :o So what am I doing? Thinking about recipes all day, playing computer games (Bubble Bobble, for pete's sake!) and checking VegWeb every half hour or so. Aiieee!!
you mean you don't just stay constantly logged in? my goodness, who ARE you?!
Haaahaha, I meant to say I refresh/reload VW every half an hour... at certain times of day, every quarter of an hour... I almost never close my browser. I just close the lid of my laptop, which means I'm always logged on. Yay for VW junkie losers!! :D :D :D
I think I'm the only one so far that has voted for 'I don't procrastinate'. If I get a big assignment (work, school, stuff around the house, etc.) I immediately start working on it and usually finish weeks before it's due. I'm pretty OCD, so I'm sure that has plenty to do with it.
You are not welcome here ;)
it's nice to know that we're all excellent at procrastinating...i, too, could have selected nearly all the options as i've figure out how to make darn near any activity take the place of what i should be doing!
Procrastinators: the leaders of tomorrow!
or something like that... ;D
So I'm not in school, but am really good at procrastinating in general. Here at work, house cleaning, Xmas Shopping, paying bills, getting my car inspected (3 days overdue right now!)... So am I allowed to vote?
Heh, my paper is due in 48 hours, and I'm only half done. So naturally I just made plans to have dinner and (too many) drinks with a good friend tonight. Yeesh.
I knew I should have allowed more than 1 option, but I couldn't edited that part after I posted. Good to know I'm not the only slacker! ::)
need to do ochem lab... need to do ochem lab...
nah, let's check for new posts on vegweb first.
and see if those crispycats are still available on veganessentials.
and track my ups package.
and look for a new webcomic.
isn't heroes on tonight?
whoah, i need to get more oreos soon... maybe now would be good.
i think i'll look for a blondie recipe.
no, scratch that. i'll look for more vegan cookbooks on amazon.
or i could just extend my vegweb post until i feel guilty enough to start that lab report.
which is... now.
(hopefully)
i think vegweb needs a 12 step program.
i am probably going to get a very bad grade on my first final tomorrow, the second one... ehhhh?
basically, what am i doing on vegweb? while i am putting the final revisions on my lit review which is due right after my finals tomorrow, i must. check. vegweb.
is it procrastination, or am i just addicted?
VW is treacherously addictive. Watch your step! (You don't need me to tell you this. :D)

yeah, maybe like 1400 posts ago... sighs... i give up.
lol...I'll do anything to avoid writing papers. Cleaning out my refrigerator...going over to my mom's to re-organize her closets.
I wrote my papers!
One was 300 words short, but whatever....it was late and my eyes blurred. I hate school and life. And math.
to confirm that all you late-paper-writers are not alone:
i have my final 'exam' essay due tonight at midnight. i work until 5:00. i tutor from 5:30 - 7:30. i am making a homemade dinner tonight (read: 1 hour minimum) and then will, of course eat it...that should give me, say, three-ish hours to begin, complete, review, and submit my essay.
but, you know what? i'm not worried. sometimes procrastinators can pull off amazing feats, and i hope all of us in that party can prove it! good luck all!
My homework days are over. :D
But, I have to say, that I was one of those students you hate - did everything on time (often before the due date), studied notes and text after class everyday, always did extra credit when offered, took extra classes, and was so on top of my time management that I had my day planned out in 15 minute increments. And I did this for 6 years of my life!
I don't do that any more, lol. Now, I'm enjoying the laidback , easy lifestyle. I don't even wear a watch or have a planner. I'm loving it.

YOU FREAK!! ;) ;D I just found out that I have another week for the paper. So, maybe I'll actually do a second draft....last minute, of course! ::)

Nooooo!!!! Don't say that! I'm just getting ready to go back to college and I have to take a math placement test tomorrow. :-\
Oh just kidding! Math is so fun! ;D
No for realz, I'm really bad at math. I just took algebra last semester and trig this time. I'm pretty sad about it because I think I'm going to fail :(
I recommend having a major that does not require much math

I used to be that way.... I'm not sure what happened between undergrad and grad school :-\
However, I did have a burst of productivity today and finished everything for my class that was due on Friday- turned it all in today instead of perseverating on it for three more days, thinking of a tweak here another here... all just making it more redundant and freaking myself out.
Now I have much more time to (unfortunately) focus on Psych Statistics. Take home test due next Tuesday and Final exam next Thursday.
THEN I'm free as an un-caged bird for a month or so.... YAY!
I recommend having a major that does not require much math
I took the "liberal arts" option over "sciences" for psychology so that I could avoid more math classes... however, now I'm back in math classes for grad school. But I like statistics. It sorta makes sense.
Yay for LIBERAL ARTS!
Except over-commitment is nearly a given with that choice.
I used to be like that too, Ecstatic. This is the first paper I've ever waited so long to finish. And now, I am down to the conclusion paragraph, which has always been my least favorite part. Maybe I'll bum around for a couple hours, go to bed, then wake up a half hour early to finish it tomorrow morning. I'm so flipping bored of this topic.
P.S. I did cheat by like half a page, but my prof said that the musical examples could count toward our final count. I'm going to photocopy four pages of my most important piece and stick that at the end. :) And my bibliographies are three pages long, so they look pretty kick ass.
