hummm...i know she really likes raw stuff...is there away to check which recipies she has reviewd? I imagine we do not want to send her things she will have to carry along with her...rather things she can eat and share with her friends?

The ratio for lara-type bars is 1 part dates to 3 parts other (nuts, fruit, seeds). I'm thinking of making something like that. kbuette was my last package person and she made some kick ass bars that had a little cinnamon in them. Also, I think I'll send a note here and there. Biking through the south and southwest during the summer must be grueling. Some "you're kick ass" notes might be appreciated.

Anything you send would be appreciated, a little or a lot. There are no worries there. Thsi is Hannah we're talking about. She'll appreciate a gesture of any size. I'm not going to send too much because I'm trying to keep my kitchen clean in order to sell my place.

i was also thinking of including a SASE so that she wouldn't have to worry about finding paper/stamps/etc.
That's a really good idea. I'm thinking of trying to get something out for May 29. With Monday being a holiday, I didn't want to send a package that might take too long to get there, so I was thinking a note of encouragement. I'll put in a few stamps. I never mail letters, so hopefully she's not like me.

Did you hear about that job? Im guessing not. i just had an interview for a full time spot and didn't get it. she hired a girl right out of college! I am feeling old and washed up! ;) :'( i really would have been the perfect person for the position too :(

I'm sorry about that, l2a. It's the hardest when you see what a great fit it would be and the person hiring isn't as in tune. Was it where you work now, or somewhere else?

Yeah, I have an eye dr. appointment on the morning of the 2nd, but I really want to make it up there. I called about the job twice and both times they said they were "still accepting resumes." When I called back again, it had been filled. :( I've had a few interviews here...the one I had Friday seems promising. If I don't find anything, I may just take the leap like you did and sub until something opens.
Anyway, sorry. I totally didn't mean to hijack this thread. Yes. We should set a meeting place. I'm good with anywhere. I still have your ph#, as well.
I'm a part time art teacher (only 2 days per week) and it was at a school within the same district. To make ends meet I sub, wait tables, and teach free lance pottery lessons on the side. I would have liked to been able to just quit everything else and just do one job.
the timing was perfect and also so imperfect at the same time. Financially, we can use the $ and security....and I can quit working so many jobs! But truthfully, I didnt want to put my newborn in full time day care. I think she probably didnt hire me because of the pregnancy thing. >:(
