Ew and LOL!
Who comes up with these experiments, btw? Talk about wasting some perfectly decent coca cola (yes, I still have a soft spot for a Coke every now and then, even if it's bad for you and loaded with bad sugars and such).

Interesting story. I was on Yahoo answers once, and a question popped up from someone asking what a person's worst food experience was. The best answer was, this one woman was putting in some cornish hens into her oven (2 of them), when some friends invited her and her hubby over supper (something like that). So, they go over to the friend's house, come home, and go to bed. About 4 days later, she can smell this rank smell in her kitchen, and she's looking all over to find the source. She said she opened up the oven, saw the two RAW cornish hens in there, and they were covered with MAGGOTS!!!! She screamed, and threw out the whole pan! It took her days to clear the smell! When I read that, I thought, THANK GAWD I'M VEGAN!!!!!! Just thinking about it now wants to make me gag...

I had a friend in college who said that he went home for a weekend or longer, and while he was gone, the electric company turned off his juice because he neglected to pay his bill... The neighbors eventually called the cops because they hadn't seen him in several days, and there was a horrible smell coming from his apartment. The cops broke into his place, looking for a dead body. Instead, they found a package of maggoty ground beef in the completely thawed freezer that was rotting. The smell was so bad that he had to clean and air out is apartment for over a week, and it still wasn't completely gone.
Meat is gross.

What's worse? The fly/maggot eggs are already IN the meat when you buy it...

Anyone remember "The Lost Boys" with Keifer Sutherland? I couldn't eat rice for a looong time after the rice/maggot scene.

I've seen that video...there was a weird explanation they gave it...something about the acidity in the pop breaking down proteins slowly and fats until they ooze out.
In santitation they said trichinosis was almost always erradicated from all the chemicals they feel animals once the meat's removed. I don't know what to believe...
As for the maggots on the ground beef, OF COURSE IT'S SPONTANEOUS GENERATION silly :P
