Well, before it is midnight here Happy Birthday Cali! 12/8 (2007 Happy Birthday)
Today was Cali's 2nd birthday. I ordered a cake from a store. They put Happy 2nd Birthday Cali and instead of flowers, put little bones and paw prints.
Cali and I went to the pet store that one of my friends owns and one manages. Cali loves all of the employees and they her, so I thought it was fitting that they eat the cake!
I bought her a new pink winter coat. Just what she needed as she now has 2 coats, two sweaters, two raincoats, an all weather coat, lifejacket and safety vest. She was so sick last winter she didn't even go outside so the coat I bought her last year is still brand new.
I also got her doggie toothpaste (Just like a kid, that probably isn't going to excite her).
Cali put her head in one of the bins with bones and grabbed one. The store gave it to her.
She looked so cute with a red Christmas decorative collar type thing around her neck and her party hat!
Oh, she also got a couple of toys. After all she is only two. Clothing and dental care products are not fun!
OK, I admit it. I bought her an electric toothbrush too because I think it will clean her teeth better.
I have the same toothbrush so I will have to put her name on the base that is plugged in so that I don't accidentally use it. ::)
Someone at work asked me the other day what type of dog I had. I replied....SPOILED! ;D
Cali deserves it. The first two years of her life have been rough. Hopefully the next 30 will be great! :)

Awww, Happy Birthday Cali. I am so happy that she is here to celebrate it with you.
Don't feel bad about spoiling her...after what she's been through, she deserves it. Can't wait to see what she gets for Christmas ;D

I'm not sure if you're a vegan doggie but, along with D-D, you can still be an en"dog"enous part of liberating people from a world view that no longer funtions! Rowf!
P.s. Yeah, I know - but hey, it still LOOKS like "dog"!
P.p.s. An' if I was more of a "character" I would characterise it so that it SOUNDS like "dog" - (instead of "doj".)

Thanks so much for the birthday wishes. I am far from vegan. Mom homes cooks for me and my four kitty brothers and sisters. We are what they would call 'carnivores' although mom is an ovo lacto vegetarian. I can't understand why she doesn't eat what we do because we love our food. She does what she thinks is right for us and what she thinks is right for her. I thank her everyday for adopting me and all of my brothers and sisters and for cooking us stuff that kind of makes her sick to look at and touch.
I am very excited because I am going to Ottawa for Christmas to visit my aunt, uncle, and two cousins. They will all be having turkey for Christmas and my aunt said I could share in the dinner. My aunt is amazing. Knowing my mom doesn't eat meat, she cooks special stuffing outside of the turkey and uses olive oil. Mom brings some fake sort of chicken to eat. More so, when mom visits, my aunt makes sure she cooks special meals for her and feeds the rest of the family those meals too. Although, she sometimes add meat for the family.
I am blessed that I was adopted by someone whose family respects her eating decisions and understands mine.

Oh, and my aunt's neighbour has invited all of us (me too) over for drinks and snacks on the 23rd. They made sure to tell my aunt I was invited too. Last Christmas I was so sick that no one in Ottawa got to meet me or know what a sweet and happy girl I am.
Thank you all for wishing me a Happy Birthday! I had such a wonderful birthday. I didn't celebrate last year because we weren't sure when it should be and I was really sick.
Now, I am getting better and feeling great.
I hopefully will graduate from basic obedience on Tuesday night and this week I learned how to shake puddy's. I can shake both my left puddy and my right puddy. I am still not good on lying down although to please mom, I did it about 4 times. Not sure if I will do it in class on Tuesday.
Mom signed me up for a snowshoeing hike in March with Dog Paddling Adventures. I think it will be a fun day. I will get to run and play in the snow with all of the doggies and I will get to watch mom try to snowshoe for the first time. If she falls down, I will jump all over her and give her kisses.
You guys are the greatest. You have always cared about me and worried when I was so deathly ill. Maybe one day I will meet some of you and will be able to lick you in person. Please do watch your noses though. Sometimes it looks like I am going to kiss you but I grab the nose in a little doggie love nibble. It is most fun at about 3:00 am when I stand over mom and she wakes up. She thinks she is going to get a doggie kiss. hee hee hee.
Love and licks to all of you who have followed my journey and truly cared. I wouldn't have gotten this far had it not been for all of the love, the positive vibes and true concern for me. As well, thank you all for helping mommy when things looked very bleak for me. Your love and support helped her more than you will ever know. She said, when times got tough and things looked really bleak, she could always count on her vegweb friends to help lift her spirits.
Who said virtual friends couldn't be the best? After all, mom found me on the internet.
